NFL Head Coach Curse
I think all the EA Sports football games curse their cover people. Obviously, the Madden Curse is well known, but now, their latest release is also plagued. Bill Cowher is on the cover of NFL Head Coach, and his star starting QB gets in a serious motorcycle accident, not to mention their number one draft pick keeps getting arrested. Hopefully, Joe Gibbs won't be on the cover of next year's.

Re: NFL Head Coach Curse
I'm cursing EA for trying to sneak an extra $30 out of people "Jonesing" for Madden'07.

Re: NFL Head Coach Curse
the big mistake is the interface, which sucks, since that's what the game is based on. you can check 5 stats on a single player at a time (and they're all ranges, which makes them confusing, like OVR: 67-93... WTF?)
if they go to the stat display madden uses (excel-like rows and columns) and kill that crappy range stuff (rpgs use base stats and then modified totals next to them in green or red or whatnot) it'd instantly be 100% better. Some of the offseason stuff is hard too because you just can't find all the options available to you (more UI problems) and the in game help isn't very helpful. the practice and game day stuff actually works fairly well, and the play designer isn't terrible either. it's all the new off field stuff that's borked, and i can't believe anyone would look at that UI design and think it was good enough to use or ship. If they just used the madden roster management UI, you could be 500+% faster moving through roster stuff. |

Re: NFL Head Coach Curse
not a big ea sports fan. i still think its crap they, ea sports, bought the exclusive rights to the nfl. the trailer i saw of their latest looked awful. Although i am slightly anxious for madden 07.

Re: NFL Head Coach Curse
07 has better superstar, highlight stick (for speed RBs), and blocking (so you can actually play OL/blocking TEs) and turning off that retarded vision cone by default (which was just a pain cause you couldn't do all the things you needed too with your QB controls while also trying to control where he was looking).
hopefuly they fix the progression and auto-sim bugs too... then it'd actually be worth paying for. |
