Hmmmm
There's more to the Marty story then him just being a coach going 8-8 and getting canned, vs Zorn and his 19 games and everyone wanting to can him.

Marty came in hard nosed, he even admitted it after their team meeting, probably cause someone (DS, Cerrato) told him they need a hard nosed HC to come in and set the players straight. We didn't hear Marty was an ass in KC or in San Diego after us. Marty was canned cause he was not being the "yes man" DS wanted. Another issue was something that was in Marty's contract. and I thought Marty requested to also take on the GM duties or he would walk and DS said walk.

Now Marty has said he does not want a coaching job but would rather have an office job...ie GM. He and DS are supposedly still good friends so if this is true and DS could create a cutsie new title for Cerrato to only handle player contracts and the theme park then maybe Marty could be brought in as GM.

Hell at this point I would go for a couple of 14-2 seasons and missing the playoffs vs being a bottom feeder like it looks like we might be if things don't get corrected quick.

...doesn Dungy even want to coach?
Shanahan
Holmgren
Marty Morningwhig
Darrel Bevel

or

Jerry Gray + a experienced WCO playcaller as OC and assistant HC-Joe Philbin in Green Bay or Kyle Shanahan in Houston
and an up and coming Zone-Blitz DC-like the Steelers Linebackers coach

Shanahan or Holmgren will be our next coach, no doubt about it!!!! One of these guys will be ours and the other will be the Cowboys coach. Zorn will either coach the rest of the year or he's out at the bye week. We may have an interim coach at some point this year but rest assured Shanahan or Holmgren will be our guy in 2010..............

I suspect Snyder may want enablers around him, but any employee dumb enough to call out his boss in public deserves to be fired.

Re: New coaches who?

Bring in Joe Jacoby for another set of eyes to watch the offensive line. No, I don't wish that on anybody. It's hard enough for me to watch them. Who are the O-linemen on our practice squad?

I love the Redskins and it really hurts to see them play below what we have come to expect and term as "Redskins Football." Neither Shanahan nor Holmgren is the answer to the problems this team faces.

I've got a question. Why does it have to be a West Coast Offense? I mean, if we're going to blow up the team, we don't necessarily have to keep the WCO offense. I still believe no matter how offensive football changes, we need an offense that has a strong offensive line and a strong running game. Both are essential for everything else to work. It doesn't really matter what type of offense it is, if it can't be successful with executing the basic fundamentals of offense, then it doesn't matter if it's a WCO or a Gibbs Offense or whatever.

Re: New coaches who?

I'm tempted to nominate almost anyone who will result in Vinny being removed from Executive Vice Reciever/Tight End Selector.

Not only is Gregg Williams NEVER coming back here, he's probably laughing his ass off at the Redskins on a daily basis while building a nice defense for the undefeated Saints. He didn't get along with Danny, and apparently couldn't stand Vinny. Good for him. Sounds like Gregg is a great judge of character if you ask me.

Re: New coaches who?

Funny how ppl call out Gruden for his time in Tampa while forgetting what he did in Oakland and in the same breath scream for Gregg Williams who did SO well in Buffalo.
