If the Eagles picked him (and they supposedly put in a 4th round claim) then there would be endless platitudes about how savvy Joe Banner and Andy Reid are for using the supplemental draft and adding a potentially valuable player, not that they threw away a pick.

Eeach team's situation has to be considered. Philly e.g. liked him but they probably want some flexibility w/their 3rd rounder next year & they are not in great need of a young DE as far as I know. Detroit has so many needs that they didn't want to go too low, but because they were #1 in draft order, their submission of a 4th for Jarmon would've beaten anyone else's 4th. Bottom line, if they liked him enough to draft in the 3rd round it was a good move. Despite the no. of DEs on the roster, there isn't a young viable starter alongside Carter. Even if Rak becomes srictly a DE, Carter is getting to the age where his speed rush isn't as speedy. |

heard vinny lay down how the order goes. it does not follow the regular draft order. he said all the 6-10 teams (example) get put in a lottery, then all the non-playoff teams get put a lottery, then the playoff teams get put in the lottery. so for this supplemental draft while we drafted 13th in the reg draft we drafted 19th in the supplemental. cowboys who drafted after us (i think the 19th?) in the regular draft actually "drafted" 13th in the supplemental for each round. go skins!!

If this kid can get a crash course in our Defense and gets several sacks this yr people will be claiming that we did awsome with this pick. All we can say for sure is he has athletic ability and has proven himself in college which should/could transfer to the pros. Hopefully it does. The major plus is the organization trying to get younger like everyone wanted with out throwing away picks for a washed up player. |

You guys are all ignoring the most important detail. What's his rating going to be in Madden?

Re: Redskins Select Jarmon in 3rd Round of Supplemental Draft
I don't think this guy is going to be that exceptional. I'm not looking for him to do anything spectacular this coming year.
The only downside is were going to have yet another offseason without our full lineup of draft picks. I personally think that the Skins are a team that need to prove they have the discipline to go one year with keeping all their allotment due to the past aggressive use of draft picks.
