There's no way he's a top lb in the sec while running a 5.1... ya know what I mean? And as a UFA there's nothing but upside bringing in a guy like that who has everything to prove.

Re: The official 2008 draft discussion thread
One day Colt will win us a super bowl with Malcom Kelly and Devin Thomas as the starting WRs, and this draft will go down as one of the best of all time. Don't forget Mark Rypen was a 6th rounder too

Re: The official 2008 draft discussion thread
jacksonville got 2 grade 1 pass rushers, miami got great talent (henne, merling, long - all three are long term starters at the 3 hardest positions to fill... i mean, wow). baltimore had 4 great picks after blowing it hard with flacco... GB did well, KC didn't get great value, but they got good players.
philly did well again... oakland not so much (great pick of chaz schilens in the 7th, but his career will probably die there). pitt took a bunch of players they plan to play immediately (again), and san diego got a steal on K brandon couto at pick 235 (don't they still have kaeding though?) stl got long (DE) and great value with schuening in the 6th... they also grabbed vobora (LB) in the 7th (148 tackles last year) which is a steal. tampa bay reached a lot, but dre moore (DT) was a good pickup in the 4th (kinda wish we took him instead). besides hardy (DE), haynos (TE), and highsmith (LB), i'd like to see giguere (LB) as a redskin too... he might go back to college though (canadian and does not have an agent). out of 10 picks, i like 8 (even though i would have done things a bit differently). rob jackson and justin tryon don't really do much for me. |

Teams deal way to record 33 trades on draft weekend
NFL decision-makers were a finicky lot at the NFL draft, making a record 33 trades on Saturday and Sunday, surpassing the previous record of 28 from the 2004 draft. ESPN - Teams deal way to record 33 trades on draft weekend - NFL
