Re: Welcome Carson Wentz
I'm just being bitchy (mostly about the cap space), but argh, he was like Plan D for me. If SOMEHOW, we finally get lucky and capture any of what he had as a rookie, this is pure genius. Maybe we can actually not use our first on a QB.

Re: Welcome Carson Wentz
As someone who was getting on the Watson bandwagon, this is a nice wake up call:
@fullblownbrian I’m honestly so relieved right now. He’s an immediate upgrade that doesn’t prevent us from drafting a QB with a high pick. And I can stop listening to fans begging we mortgage the future for a sexual predator.

Re: Welcome Carson Wentz
Eyes wide open on this, we're going to get frustrated with accuracy issues for sure because 62% completion percentage sucks.
But watch this video, which admittedly is the highlight package, but you can see the strong arm from funky platforms. Falling backward, rolling away, across the body. Heinicke can't make these throws. That's how 27-7 can happen. Russell Wilson he is not but he's better than what we've had. Anyway, use this video to try to get a little excited, if nothing else:

Re: Welcome Carson Wentz
And he can still escape. Not sure we lose anything in the mobility department from Heinicke to Wentz.

Re: Welcome Carson Wentz
You guys are thinking of the Carson Wentz of a few years ago. He's a bad QB now. He isn't much better than TH and costs a lot more plus you just gave up a couple of picks.
Reminds me a lot of the McNabb trade. Damaged goods. |

Darius Leonard is not happy with Wentz leaving. Said “here we go again with another year another QB”

I'm not saying you have to like this, but you're making it worst than it seems. And Heinecke was terrible.

His last five years: TD / INT 2017: 33 / 7 2018: 21 / 7 2019: 27 / 7 2020: 16 / 15 2021: 27 / 7 2020 was the outlier - the year he was traded to the Colts. |

I have just never really been a fan of the guy. It's like the league caught up to him and he had no change up. He is always trying to make superman plays ducking under the d-linemen, then he either fumbles or takes horrible sacks. He just makes way too many bad plays. He is a bigger version of RG3. Again, when two teams move on from you that is just a really bad sign. Real bad. Ballard is a solid GM, he's not going to just get rid of his starting QB for no reason. |
