Re: Redskins free agent signings 2018

They must really like Roullier at center.

Long was a solid "meh" player to me. I held out hope that he would prove more, but he really was never more than I mostly-competent starter, solid back-up. However, now we need both a starting LG and "mostly-competent starter, solid back-up" interior lineman.

hopefully they have a plan to beef up the lines, it seems every off-season (almost) lately this FO decides to neglect the lines either JUST enough to hurt us (shreff, allen exceptions) - or completely to the point we have blocking sleds in there....... (last years d-line FA signings.....) i hope they have a friggin plan this time smh

I would trade up if possible and draft Nelson, but i don't see that happening.. He's my #1 Guy though. Guice is 2nd.

The Skins are interested in Poe. Allen is another guy on the radar.

If they sign Brown or Navarro they can go RB and G early in the draft.

I'm told that the Patriots are among the three final teams (including the Bucs) in the running to land Redskins outside linebacker Trent Murphy.

Re: Redskins free agent signings 2018

Murphy has posted a "Thank you Redskins" tweet that pretty much is a "good-bye Redskins" tweet.

So ...
Breeland, Grant, Long, Murphy -- Gone.

Hopkins -- re-signed

Richardson -- Signed.

Zach Brown, hopefully back and, now that Murphy gone, maybe J Gallette comes back (but I think he is still looking for a payday).

From what I was reading yesterday (which may have changed several times since then), it didn't sound like Zach Brown was coming back. Gallette keeps talking about starving to death on his Twitter, so I'm assuming he wants to get paid somewhere. I don't believe the Redskins will resign him.

Is it just me or in the past, it seemed like other teams only wanted our stud free agents. (Brian Orakpo) etc.

Now they are taking our "meat and potato" players.

I hate to lose them but that's probably a good sign. Right?

Given what the Eagles just resigned their MLB for and no one signed him first day he probably not getting top 3 money.

Re: Redskins free agent signings 2018

Offense is pretty much a wash so far - losing Grant and picking up Richardson. Losing Cousins and picking up Smith. Both may be upgrades, but time will tell. Spencer Long gone, but not a big loss really.

In my opinion, the defense was pretty decent to start the season last year until injuries started to mount. However, the departures to this point compared to the additions is not comforting. I know it's still early, and we can't really sign anyone until this evening, but so far we are potentially losing 2 DL, 2 LB, & 2 CB, with no reported additions thus far.

I guess I'm wondering how everyone feels about the overall turnover so far? What do you think the plan is here? Some of the potential (reported) targets to fill these holes have resigned with their respective teams or signed elsewhere, and currently there's only 7 picks in the draft. I think I'm getting a little nervous about it all.

Not worried about anyone who has left. Richardson is signing is meh, but worth the small risk of that contract

With this offseason, my only question for the front office is 1. What have we done today to improve the running game? and 2.Have we got a NT/DT yet?

We not taking that next step without a viable running game folks.

Given that for many years more value was put on FAs than the draft and draft picks were traded there was not much to choose from.
