He's also referred to this as a "minor setback for a major comeback"

My take was more of a "glass is half full" assessment on the outcome of the game.

Yes a promising young player was lost for the season....but we looked really good against a very strong team.

An important battle was won even though a good man fell.

ok I'll buy that, maybe it's just the way you said you we're "thrilled" that made me read a little too much into it.

Re: Redskins DE Jarvis Jenkins Has Torn ACL

The 49ers have rookie DeMarcus Dobbs DE who signed as FA out of Georgia and looks great. If the 49ers cut him and plan on bringing him to the PS, the Redskins should snap him up. This kid has looked great during the pre-season and just might make the team.

Seeing that your from CA, what about the Chargers? Any good players that would be good 3-4 DE's?

Re: Redskins DE Jarvis Jenkins Has Torn ACL

Reading about ACL tears - could affect his productivity on the field going forward. What bad luck.

Quote:
Most NFL Players Return To Competition After ACL Injury, But At A Reduced Performance Level

...For those players who returned to NFL action following an ACL injury, performance fell by one-third, the researchers found. Power rating per game played decreased from 9.9 pre-injury to 6.5 post-injury.
Hope he comes back and plays like he did before.
