Re: New coaches who?
Dungy would never let Snyder bring in a crazy "MY GOD IS IN A VOLCANO" nutjob to talk to him either.

Re: New coaches who?
How do you think that would strike the Z man.....? lol
Maybe he could keep his job. Holmgren eyeballing D.C.? Posted by Mike Florio on September 29, 2009 8:36 PM ET Former Packers and Seahawks coach Mike Holmgren has been making no bones about his desire to return to the NFL in 2010. An we've been hearing for months rumors that Holmgren would be very interested in becoming the next coach of the Washington Redskins. Earlier today, Peter King of SI.com providing some meat for that bone, in an appearance with Chris Russo of Mag Dog Unleashed on Sirius XM Radio. "I've heard a lot of people say in the last few days, 'Oh, Holmgren wouldn't want to go to Washington,'" King said. "Keep one thing in mind in December when all this stuff starts to go down. Remember where you heard this. Mike Holmgren last year, Thanksgiving weekend, I'm sitting in his office in Seattle and he says, 'You know, I'm going to take this next year off but after that I'll give you a cool little theory for what I might do.' I said, 'What?' And he says, 'I've coached in the Midwest with Green Bay and I grew up playing and coaching out west -- Brigham Young, the 49ers, Seattle.' And he said, 'I'd really love to try the East Coast. That brand of football where you wake up on Sunday morning and it's the most important thing. There aren't 800 things to do. Where you're in East Rutherford or Philly or Washington and it's so important.' "He said, 'I'd really love to try football on the East Coast.' So do not eliminate Mike Holmgren when you start talking about coaching candidates for [Redskins owner] Dan Snyder." So we think it'll be Holmgren and Shanahan jockeying for position in D.C., and the Redskins and Cowboys in a possible tug of war to get their preferred candidate. That's why we don't rule out the 'Skins launching the process before the end of the season, in order to get a crack at Holmgren or Shanahan, before Jerry Jones does.

Either Holmgren or Shanahan would be great! I could see if holmgren kept Zorn as a offensive coordinator idk...

Re: New coaches who?
Shanahan, post-Elway, proved to be a poor talent evaluator and a coach who loses his team. Just say no to Shanahan.

Re: New coaches who?
Well said. Pat Bowlen would have never fired him unless there was a reason.

Re: New coaches who?
Position: Offensive Coordinator
Jets Seasons: 4 NFL Coaching seasons: 11 Age: 35 ■ Brian Schottenheimer was retained by Rex Ryan as offensive coordinator after one of the best offensive seasons in franchise history. He was originally named the Jets’ coordinator on Jan. 30, 2006, coming to the team after serving as quarterbacks coach for the San Diego Chargers for four seasons (2002-05). Schottenheimer’s offensive scheme features multiple sets and flexibility as well as a no-huddle component. ■ After acquiring Brett Favre on Aug. 6, the 2008 Jets scored 405 points, only the third time in franchise history that they reached 400 points, and their 42 offensive touchdowns were their most since 1998. The offense ranked 16th in the NFL in total yards and ninth in rushing yards, both rankings the team's highest since 2004. The running game, led by Pro Bowlers Thomas Jones (AFC-leading 1,312 rushing yards, team-record 13 rushing TDs) and Leon Washington (448 yards, six rushing TDs), averaged 4.75 yards per carry, fifth in the league and the best season mark in franchise history. ■ In 2007 Schottenheimer's offense produced a 1,000-yard rusher in Thomas Jones (1,119) and a 1,000-yard receiver in Jerricho Cotchery (1,130). ■ In 2006 Chad Pennington completed 65 percent of his passes for a career-best 3,352 yards while Cotchery (82-961-6) and Laveranues Coles (91-1,098-6) combined for the most catches by any receiver tandem in franchise history. ■ At San Diego, Schottenheimer was instrumental in the development of Chargers QB Drew Brees. Under his tutelage in 2005, Brees completed 64.6 percent of his passes for a career-best 3,576 yards and tied for fourth in the NFL with 24 TD passes. ■ Prior to his stint in San Diego, Schottenheimer worked for his father, Marty, on two previous occasions — as QB coach for the Washington Redskins in 2001 and as offensive assistant/quality control coach for the Kansas City Chiefs in 1998. ■ He gained two years of coaching experience at the collegiate level, tutoring tight ends at Southern Cal in 2000 and wide receivers at Syracuse in 1999. ■ He made his NFL coaching debut in 1997 as an offensive assistant for the St. Louis Rams. |

We should bring in Holmgren ASAP because he woulnd't cause any ripples because Zorn coached under him. Things woulnd't have to change dramatically. But I think we bring him in now before the season is over. Maybe before the bye week. As a consultant or whatever. Plus he has taken to different teasm to the superbowl and seems to be a person who adapts to his personnel.

Re: New coaches who?
Well as fans we do have a great deal of experence when firing and hiring Head Coaches. I don't think thats a good thing but it is easier to just balme the Head Coach and think a new Head Coach will fix the team in 2 seasons or less. All you impatient fire the head coach fans dont want to fix the team you just want to put a band-aid on gun shot wound. If we fire Zorn we have to clean house with our current roster.
