Re: Giants-Redskins Gameday Thread
I'd be more worried about Jammal Brown getting beat by Dave Tollefson a second stringer over Trent. Imagine if Tuck and/or Umenyiora had played...different result.
Laron playing today also better result. Reed Doughty is strictly a backup. And whats the point of not playing Torain and Helu.

Re: Giants-Redskins Gameday Thread
Great:
Rex Grossman - The weird thing to me is that I expected him to do this well.. Tim Hightower - Is a legitimate 3 down back that Portis hasn't been for the last couple seasons. Santana Moss - He's just a talented receiver. Maybe not a fantasy guy, but boy is he dependable. Ryan Kerrigan - Who's Brian Orakpo again? He's been overshadowed by a rookie since training camp. Chris Nield - It's sad that you could tell when the 36 million dollar man was on the sidelines because that meant there was pressure coming from Nield. Good: Fred Davis - The stats don't lie, he could be a gamer for us if used correctly. Josh Wilson - Played terrific tonight. Rocky - He stood out more than Fletcher tonight in my opinion, which is high praise for Rock. Bad: Armstrong - He needed at least one of those two drops/defensive plays Jammal Brown/Chris Chester duo - They had some bad bad plays. Atogwe - I was not impressed tonight with him at all. Orakpo - Where is he? I saw him cause legitimate pressure once where it looked like he had been held, but otherwise he just floated all night. Barry Cofield - Just "meh", made a very nice play on the 4th down. Ugly: Trent "Silverback" Williams - ....................... Bust...... Reed Doughty - To nobody's surprise he almost blew the game early again. Huge team win tonight. Having a stable quarterback, a consistent running threat, and an aggressive well schemed defense and you can see what happens... You win games.

Re: Giants-Redskins Gameday Thread
The Good:
The Passing game: Grossman and the Redskins widerecievers were able to eat apart the Giant depleted zone defense, The widerecievers had crisp routes throughout the game and were open throughout The rookies: Kerrigan represented big being around the ball the whole game and a momentum shifting interception. Chris Neild brought huge penetration from the nosetackle position bringing 2 sacks, boy I don’t miss Albert Haynesworth one bit! Brandyn Thompson saw some action as a slot defensive back and didn’t give up plays, a great thing to see, that little experience is key for the future. Bowen and Coefield: I like the push on the line they had, they were key in some important stops Sav Rocca: Boy I love saying that name, 6 punts with 4 inside the 20, that great The Bad: Reed Doughty: I really thought he wouldn’t be a liability, but he showed he really is with some terrible blown coverage, Reed is valuable with his special teams skills alone but he just isn’t a NFL starter, LL needs to get healthy Offensive Line: I really was expecting more, it seemed like Hightower didn’t have the lanes he wanted and Rex was on his ass for what it seemed to be 80 % of the time, hopefully some kinks get worked out, but this will obviously be a weakness throughout the year (Trent Williams deserves mention here as a player who really stood out to me to struggle, he was constantly out matched) Graham Gano: perfect in the preseason and choker when it means something, I’m seriously tired of it, step up or your out Will Montgomery’s Snaps: they seemed to be all over the place, he really needs to get his snaps down, It’s only a matter of time until Rex drops some, we can’t afford stupid mistakes such as that Checkout redskinsrave.com for more!

Re: Giants-Redskins Gameday Thread
Neil being good does not mean Cofield was bad... let's take it easy.

These rookies have definitely given me hope. He is one hell of a 7th round pick.

Re: Giants-Redskins Gameday Thread
But it was disappointing seeing Cofield being manhandled by the Giants' rookie center. I hope this was just a one game hiccup.

Re: Giants-Redskins Gameday Thread
Interestingly enought, Neild said the only reason he even got that first sack was that he totally missed his assignment and just ended up at the wrong place at the right time

Re: Giants-Redskins Gameday Thread
The good. We won the damn game. Be happy. I really don't care about how shitty the o-line played. When you win a game against a team that has owned us then I'm happy. We can bitch about all the other stuff later. Great job to Grossman, Santana, Fred Davis and the freakin defense!
