Cute. I look at it this way. Shannahan maybe done in DC, but he'll never have to pay for a beer in St Louis in appreciation for delivering the Rams the #2 overall pick in the draft.

And if the next HC does not do better than say 6-10 in 2014, they'll get another top 10 pick and Shannahan gets the key to the city.

No, you're wrong. The number 2 overall pick in the '14 draft completes the trade.

I would definitely make a point to at least have a CLUE what you are speaking about if you are going to needle. I will say it was fun watching Orton toss that Romo-esque pick last night though. Different QB, same result.

Good one!

And they fit nicely, too. I could hardly tell the difference between them.

He and Morrocco Brown will lead the front office basically. That's what I got from that.

Re: It's official: Shanahan fired

One thing Ill take away from this season is the fact Skins knocked out Romo for the season effectively knocking them out the playoffs for a second year in a row

It's become clear to me, and I think to a lot of people, that Shanahan was largely the beneficiary of coaching John Elway in his prime. If it wasn't for that he would have never been as successful as he was. I don't see him finding another job now.

I tend to disagree with that notion. Shanahan, from a pure coaching perspective (X's and O's, coaching guys to play above their normal threshold, etc) is a fantastic coach.

He calls a good game, plays the odds, and I've always respected his accomplishments on the field in a game. I think where he implodes is on any personnel decisions. That's why they gave him the boot in Denver, and ultimately why he has failed here in D.C.

Either way, he's gone. Good riddance. I'm not excited this go round for out coaching change. Quite frankly, I'm extremely pessimistic. I think there are some good choices out there (Jay Gruden HC, Raheem Morris DC, Hire a true GM), but I simply think we won't do it.
