Seriously though, how soon does anyone think the first FA deal get announced? and will it be the Skins or someone else?

Probably...unless they wait until 4:15pm and hopefully be given the same leeway as the Parcell when he was running the Dolphins (he signed a player 15 minutes after free agency started).

What's to keep Eric Winston from signing with us now? He was released so he should be able to sign with whomever he pleases right now, yet I keep seeing media saying as soon as the clock hits 4 the Redskins will target him.

good point. i would imagine they are either talking to him already or will get to it when they have time. i imagine they are trying to reprioritize thier needs in light of the cap penalty.

I agree that confuses the hell out of me. Maybe he needs to be officially placed on the nfl's cut list, like the waiver list? I don't know though.

Paul McQuinston is apparently on our radar.

A starting right tackle ranks as the Washington offense’s next biggest need. The team re-signed Jammal Brown to a five-year, $20.25 million contract last July. But the same hip that required surgery in 2008 and forced Brown out of the 2009 campaign continued to cause the seven-year veteran problems last season.

Brown has spent the offseason rehabilitating the injury, but Redskins’ officials still are expected to seek another right tackle. Seattle’s Paul McQuistan, who played in a zone-blocking scheme nearly identical to Washington’s, could be an option.
