Re: Who Can Lead This Team?
Isn't it a little too early for that in the year?

I think this needs an explanation then. Seems like a sub optimal use of personnel.

Since you already spent the time doing it, just how many plays out of the total WAS Davis sitting?

Re: Who Can Lead This Team?
I appreciate the acknowledgement GTripp. Perhaps now we can move forward and explore the more pertinent question, which is, why would we purposefully nullify the production of one of our most reliable offensive playmakers in a game of such magnitude?

I'm gonna take a stab at it and guess they kept him in to block because they assume the offensive line would need help blocking the Cowboys great pass rush?

Re: Who Can Lead This Team?
If you needed a pass blocker why not use Cooley, or Sellers, or Paulsen in a similar role. All of those guys are adept pass blockers, and wouldn't detract from our passing game.

Re: Who Can Lead This Team?
Perhaps, just perhaps, the coaches are not yet comfortable with Davis as a "reliable" weapon. We've heard how much he has grown and he has certainly made big plays. BUT, it may simply be a situation where the Shanny's want to make sure he doesn't backslide. I think it is clear with this coaching staff is that trust has to be earned. So perhaps as the season progresses, we see more and more of Davis as the coaches become convincced he can be relied upon through good and bad.
