Wow I really blew it. I thought the Minnesota D was tightening it up, then Peyton finally brings in the running game. Favre was starting to look decent come halftime only to stink again. Sort of like a WWE wrestling match where the momentum keeps switching.

For a moment I thought I was watching the Ravens vs. Jets game. Not a great showing by Brees fantasy-wise. I hope this just first-game rustiness.

Brees could have easily had a much better night, his WRs didn't help him out much there a few times. That drop in the endzone was pretty bad by Meachem.

Any idea why Chilly gave up on the run in the 2nd half? AP was grinding, should have stuck with him.

Re: NFL regular season thread (week 1)

Apparently last nights game wasn't all that different from last years opener for the Vikings. Against the Browns he put up a measly 110 yards on 21 pass attempts. He then followed up in week 2 with 155 yards against Detroit, though he was ridiculously accurate going 23/27. If I was a Vikings fan I wouldn't panic until week 3.

Re: NFL regular season thread (week 1)

Def not time to panic for the Vikings.

Favre just needs some time to get on track. He clearly doesn't have a go to guy right now other than Shiancoe. Berrian blows, Harvin is clearly rusty. Perhaps Camarillo can step up? Still, he's no Rice.

I know it's only one game but I think it is panic time for Minn. It's very apparent that Farve needed an entire training camp. And it's very obvious they're missing Rice. I think last year he was able to play his way into shape and they still won. May not be the case this year w/out Rice and a tougher schedule.

Had Thomas in one league and Colston, Harvin and Brees in the other. Not great but okay. Pulling for Turner and Grant - particularly Grant want him to run it up on Philly.

Neither team, to me, looked particularly sharp on offense. Other than N.O.'s two drives at the opening of the half and the opening of the game, they really didn't do much. Enough but not much.

I expect both of these offenses will get it rocking by about game 3 though.
