In contrast, McNabb, Jackson, and their D as either Start'em or sleepers.

We all know that this means nothing. Its like the guy on ESPN that told people to sit Larry Johnson last week. How'd that work out?
Almost every so called "expert" is picking the Eagles. Which is a good thing in my opinion. When the skins are doubted they play so much better. I pick the skins by 10.

Re: Thoughts on Eagles/Redskins

Since I cant get a prediction thread complete with poll, I am going to have to do this here. The Eagles are looking to pick up the pieces after a close loss to the Bears last week and they will be ready to play. The Skins will be slightly overconfident after last weeks win in Dallas. I am going to take Philly in a close one at home. Thier defense will smother us this week and their offense will do just enough to outscore us.

Philly 13
Washington 10

Re: Thoughts on Eagles/Redskins

Obviously this game will be no party.
I just heard on 980am in DC (as I have not kept up on the IR), Springs, Thomas, Heyer, did not practice again yesterday, and are doubtful for the game. Additionally, we already know that Jason is out and Andre Carter has been out on personal business (not sure of his status). THAT is alot of primetime problems.
The Eagles are hungry and will not go away voluntarily. This game will have to be TAKEN from them.........the old fashion way. MAN, this could be a real dogfight!

Yea, i don't know that we've seen a defense like the eagles yet. I'm kind of worried about that. The Giants might be close and we all know how that turned out. So, it's going to be tough going I believe. Let's hope our defense shows up in a big way to help the offense out.

Dallas scored 41 points against the Philly D.
Dallas scored 24 against the Skins D (17 before the last-minute TD).

Re: Thoughts on Eagles/Redskins

Have the Eagles faced a defense like the Skins? I think that's a question worth asking. The Skins D has done quite the number on some of the more high powered offenses in the league.

i think this will be a brutal game personally. For both sides, its a must win for the eagles.
Our defense definitely needs to contain their weapons a hell of alot better than they have in the past, and we need to use the blitz against them...soften it with some screens to moss, cooley, thomas or portis.

i agree. I think it is going to be how JC reacts to phillys incredible blitz packages. Jim johnson is a genius when it comes to bringing pressure. Look at what they did to pittsburg. This week is true test for campbell and the offense.

Hail to the redskins

Re: Thoughts on Eagles/Redskins

Pittsburgh has some serious OL issues, and Ben holds on to the ball way too long at times. Philly has a good D but this isn't the '85 Bears folks.

Re: Thoughts on Eagles/Redskins

most definitely it is a beatable philly team. we arent going up against a juggernaut.
I think this team is soft in their zone coverage. I also think that if jc has quick reads the defense will be a non factor..the confidence we have accumulated will make this team seem entirely beatable. WE dont want the arrogance..but this game is pivotal.
It always seems to me that philly/skins games are the most brutal, physical and injury laden out of any game we play. The dallas rivalry is always the most heated and intense and the matchup at Ny always seems to happen on a week that both teams need to win...but the philly games just get NASTY.:FIREdevil

It's the NFC East. So throw out the stats, references to previous games, etc. You never know what is going to happen. I'd say the odds of Philly beating us are about as good as us beating them.

Very true, good point. I seem to be getting an image of Ben R. getting sacked, about 8 times at Philly, stuck in my head. I forget that Dallas (who has a really good offense) stuck it to them). So, maybe I'm overvaluing their D.

They also lost their top TWO RBs, Parker and Mendenhall to injury. Mendenhall for the season.

Mewelde Moore, who was nothing more than a kick returner most of his career, is their starter.

Soon they're going to have to use a 3 TE set and empty backfield on every play to protect their starting QB Dennis Dixon (Ben and Leftwich won't survive). They won't have any RBs left.

Re: Thoughts on Eagles/Redskins

According to Doc, Randy Thomas is good to go with Springs, and Heyer probably a no go.
Apparently Westbrook has been in practice yesterday, and today. Don't know to what extent. Our guys on 980am are confident he will play
