Re: Roy Williams (WR) for a 2nd Round Pick?
Because Hacket can only play PG during the pick up Basketball games and thats Santana Moss's position. We're looking for a SG.
However in all seriousness take a look at him DirtySkin21. The guys huge for a WR. I thought that he looked like a TE in the first few pics: YouTube - D.J Hackett Tribute The guy has the right combination of production and size IMO.

So do you not want Hackett because of the money, or because he's "only 6'2"?

Re: Roy Williams (WR) for a 2nd Round Pick?
^^
I think a little bit of both.. I dont know maybe it's me but if we are going to pay a guy, and we want a BIG receiver... we should at least try and land a WR that's tipping 6'4''.. Like we could sign Ernest Wilford for way cheaper than that and he's 6'4'' and runs a 4.38 - 40 and he's 220lbs and he's from the area and went to school at VT.. He could be had for cheap and could make a HUGE impact but I dunno, I think hackett could be a good signing for a potential number 2 if we can't sign anyone better for around tht same price.. |

Re: Roy Williams (WR) for a 2nd Round Pick?
just like this drayton florence mess, he's not better than smoot, So i dont see why we are interested? he's gonna want wayy too much money for what he's worth..
He's def not better than rogers and springs and I think Smoot, Rogers, and Springs are VERY close in talent, but Rogers potential is way better than Springs. As he is declining and Smoot looks to be playing that solid 2nd or 3rd cb role. |

Well those numbers are great and all but look at the production. Wilford's yards per game numbers aren't as good as Hacket's. Just because we need a big Reciever doesn't mean we need the BIGGEST reciever. Hacket is also familiar with the system that Zorn's going to run. On top of that scouts around the league feel that Hacket has the potential to be a #1 reciever. Wilford on the other hand looks to me like a career #2 guy.

Wilford will come way cheaper than hackett and the jags runs a west coast style offense too so that's not a problem. We need a posession receiver, and a good number 2 would be perfect. I haven't heard anything saying we needed a number 1, I just heard we need a compliment to santana and I think wilford would be just that.. Not only is he big but he's fast and just because his YPC isn't that great doesnt mean anything, the jags have had a crazy qb situation with injuries and cuts and everything so no wonder his numbers havent been the best.. DO you honestly think Hackett is a better WR than Santana? I agree he didnt have the best season last year but he was injured and we have ayoung QB and all that. I just think we could sign Wilford and then tend to other more pressing needs that are going to be addresed. But I dont see the problem in bring in both of them but dan shouldnt pay him 14 mil guaranteed or hes a fool. |

Re: Roy Williams (WR) for a 2nd Round Pick?
There's more rumors out there that Roy Williams is on the trading block.
I'm a firm believer in the Skins building thru the draft, but I'd have to seriously think about trading our #1 for RW. Now, i'm not sure what kind of contract he'll want or get, but that would be my main concern. Somehow, if they could work it out...it would be tempting. Rumor has it he can be had. |

Re: Roy Williams (WR) for a 2nd Round Pick?
the eagles made an offer to him today:
It was reported on a Detroit radio station that the Eagles have offered CB Lito Sheppard, and their 2008 2nd/4th/6th rounders for Roy Williams. An agent who doesn't represent Roy, said " Roy is definitely on the block " |

Re: Roy Williams (WR) for a 2nd Round Pick?
I kinda want to see the Redskins get involve with this...but how much will it cost them? It appears from the Eagles offer that a 2nd round pick wouldn't be enough.

Re: Roy Williams (WR) for a 2nd Round Pick?
Hackett is all we need, and if desperate, B. Johnson. Williams is too much $$$ and we can draft a youngster who will be as good or better than Williams in the future. He is a former first round pick and will want to be compensated by someone who can afford him.
