Even if they don't win the game, I think you will see them give the Pats the best game yet this year.
If this game were at FedEx, I might be inclined to agree. But the Skins have not proven to be an offensive juggernaut especially on the road.

The defense will have to play lights out for 4 solid quarters, and score on some defensive turnovers to have a chance.

We all know that most officials have a tendancy to get free with the little yellow flag where ST is concerned, be it deserved or not, referees so tend to pick on Taylor. Pats will not be scared to go his way because of this.

If any defense can hold the Pats under 30 it is the Skins. But this is an interconference matchup, and really does not bear huge consequence to New England. It is the Colts game, the following week that will have playoff implications even this early since they are both AFC teams.

Pats will try and put Washington away early and put Brady and company on the bench in the 4th quarter. Watch and see.

He has two good games in a row and all of a sudden he's the best slot receiver in football? Gimme' a break.

Now, I'm not saying he isn't talented and he won't score a TD against us, but honestly, we've covered better receivers before already this season.

I don't know if I would agree with that this year. Any time he's been challenged it's been either defended OR picked off. I don't even know if Brady is going to make it work.

Perhaps Brady and company will be on the bench in the 4th quarter, but I doubt it will be because they have an insurmountable lead...

I also believe that if they look past Washington to Indy, they will have to beat Indy in order to stay even with them.

you know.. i sense a bit of arrogance. Look a ton of Skins fans out here have complimented your team and coach. saying how good you are and how you will probably win. You seem not to want to face the fact that our D is the strongest you have played and seem to believe our scheme is not working. If you have not noticed #1 in the NFC #3 in the NFL. We have played 2 or 3 of the top offenses in the league and have basically shut them down. I think you should show the same respect on the REDSKINS board as many of us here have show the Pats.

just because the pats whipped your ass doesn't automatically give them a win. Granted, I do believe the pats will win, but stop sounding like because they beat you like a rented mule makes them automatic super bowl winners

The only way to beat the Patriots is to generate a ton of turnovers.

The other way to beat them is with a bat while they are sleeping.
I don't care about yardage. The only stat that matters is scoring defense. I know we have a better scoring defense than the Pats.

Dallas no. But NE? I don't know. If the offense keeps going three and out then yes, I could see them dropping a lot points on us.

One thing about NE is they don't play to loose if they have a lead. They try and score instead of milking the clock.

The two games the Redskins have played on the road this year have actually turned out to be pretty effiecient offensive days. The Green Bay game was marred by fumbles and dropped passes, something the Redskin players have traditionally been good at preventing. But the offense had no problem carving up the defense in either situation.

Not a whole bunch of points scored in either of those games, but no reason to think the team can't score three TD's on NE.

Our worst offensive game was against Miami by far, only 13 points in regulation because we shortened the game with running plays.

I DON'T think the Pats are going to try to win this game early. That's not really their style. They didn't score early against Buffalo, they didn't score early against Cleveland, and even against you guys, they didn't explode until the 2nd half. Wasn't Dallas ahead in the 3rd quarter?

Brady will struggle if he tries to jump ahead early. The best way to attack the Redskins defense is to be patient, and eventually these guys will start missing tackles. I think that's how NE comes out, and it will be on the defense to tackle the ball, and on the offense to control the ball and score. FG's are alright against NE, we just need something. Our kicker only has 10 attempts on the year.

Again, those jump balls to Moss took advantage of the fact that Cameron Worrell really isn't a football player. That was them exposing a matchup that simply isn't there against the Redskins.

The Patriots defense has NEVER surrendered more than 20 points all season. (The two games where Miami and Dallas scored higher than 20 was due to a the opposing defense scoring on a turnover).

So how can you use the word "realistically" in that prediction? Because based on the stats, and, how the 'Skins have performed recently on offense that is not a "realistic" prediction.?
It makes sense because if the Patriots do happen to hang 38 on them, there will be A LOT more offensive snaps for a very potent offense. Obviously snaps have a strong correlation with points, much stronger than TOP for example.

The Redskins had a lot of snaps vs. Detroit. In their other games...not so much.

Is more snaps always a good thing? Not if the other team also gets more snaps. But it does mean more points.

I don't think the Pats are going to get close to 38 points against the No. 1 passing defense. More likely if they win, it will be because they had success running, and scored 24 points or something and beat us 24-21.

24-21 seems close, but if the Pats had three long methodical TD drives against the Redskins that ate up a ton of clock, then obviously they got it done.

One of the reasons the offense hasn't been scoring is that they are USUALLY playing with a lead. We would all still wish they would add to that lead, but teams have shut us down when we try to run with a lead (And I would give the credit to our opponents for this). That eats up clock AND forces a lot of punts. If we are forced to play from behind, something that has not happened prior to the late third quarter this year, I think the passing offense could put up a lot of points.

Both teams are going to throw, throw, throw. We are going to take away the deep stuff, and force them to throw short to intermediate. If we can get pass pro, I think we can go deep on this team. Lots of plays in this one will mean lots of points even if the offenses don't play well.
They will be throwing cause that is what they do. But we are not that type of team. I hate to sound like Gibbs but we have to have balance this week. Just take more shots downfield and for god sakes get Santana involved.

This game will be the barometer of how far we've come as a team, even if we lose with backup offensive linemen we will know what areas we need to improve on.

Sandy, being the good guy that you are, I'm sure you'll be back to eat a little crow after we bust up BB&M?
