i wouldnt mind possibly signing him for cheap at strong and have merriweather at free, unless of course we plan on using our 3rd on a safety then i would pass

If we were to sign him (which i doubt will happen because he's 34) i would only want it to be a really cheap, safe deal for a year. That way he could serve as a stopgap until next seasons safety rich draft.

not a free agent but panthers are trying to trade Jonathan Stewart.... any takers? good young rb but i just think we have far too many needs and not any picks to give away. i would only do it if it was a steal

Stewart would be a great fit here, instant upgrade, and probably wouldn't cost as much as you would think because he's in the last year of his contract.
Stewart coming available is also why trading a 5th for Tim Hightower was not a great idea.
