Re: The Sam Howell Thread
That’s fine but if Sam loses out to a rookie you lose draft capital.

Like it or not, Sam has played too damn well just to give up on his development now. The value of having a second quality QB on the team is way underrated.

Re: The Sam Howell Thread
If this team gives up on Howell after literally carrying these sorry ass lineman, it would be one of the worst moves Harris could make. The fans would go crazy too. Sam has become a fan favorite and rightfully so. Dude lays it all on the line every game.

Re: The Sam Howell Thread
Since 2000 there has been 69 QBs taken in first round .
17 were #1 overall pick (the year is listed before name) 01-Vick,02-Carr,03-Palmer,04-E Manning,05-A smith,07-Russell,09-Stafford,10-Bradford,11-Newton,12-Luck,15-Winston,16-Goff,18-Mayfield,19-Murray,20-Burrow,21-Lawrence,23-Young Out of those picks there is only one sure fire Bust ( Russell) at least 10 elite level and the rest very solid .. Now it gets interesting.. 6 were number 2 overall picks 12-R Griffin,15-Mariota,16-Wentz,17-Trubisky,21-Z Wilson,23-Cj Stroud …Other than Stroud that is a huge drop off in talent 6 were pick#3 02-Harrington,06-V Young,08-M Ryan,14-Bortles,18-Darnold,21-Lance … One very solid in Ryan 2 were pick#4 04-Rivers,23-Richardson 2 were pick #5 09-Sanchez,20-Tua 2/#6 19-Jones,20-Herbert 2/#7 03-Leftwich,18-J Allen 2/#8 11-locker,12-Tannehill 0/#9 4/#10 06-Leinart ,11-Gabbert,17-Mahomes,18-Rosen 3/#11 04-Big Ben,06-Cutler,21-Fields 2/#12 11-Ponder,17-Watson 0/13 0/14 2/15 19-Haskins,21-M jones 1/16 13-Manual 1/17 09-Freeman 2/18 00-Pennington,08-Flacco 1/19 03-Boller 1/20 22-Pickett 0/21 5/22 03-Grossman,04-Lossman,07-Quinn,14- Manziel,12-Weeden 0/23 1/24 05-A Rogers 2/25 05-J Campbell,10-Tebow 2/26 16-Lynch,20-Love 0/27-31 3/32 02-Ramsey,14-Bridgwater,18-Jackson Other than The number ONE pick it’s at best a crap shoot picking a Qb in first round …10 QBs from 2cnd pick to 32 pick in first round were elite franchise QB .. and that’s since 2000 (10 out of 52 ) Last edited by rocnrik; 11-26-2023 at 07:47 PM. |

Re: The Sam Howell Thread
Is it worth pointing out that usually if a new GM/HC comes in, they're often inclined to get their own QB because the incumbent is average or poor? How often has a HC come into a job where they've inherited a good or even great QB, and turfed them out for 'their guy'?

Re: The Sam Howell Thread
Right now the Bears get top pick and they need a QB .. Pats need a QB .. that’s two off the board ..Cards don’t .. the bears get another pick before us ..IF we NEEDED a QB we aren’t gonna get one of the top 2 guys .. if we really really want a chance at one of them then TANK !!! And we still probably won’t get one of them .. the 5th pick is what we are looking at realistically.. So who will be there ??

The bears won’t pass up on Caleb Williams and the pats won’t pass up on maye. So in my opinion don’t take a QB at 4 or 5. Take the best LT available or trade back and add picks Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
