Re: Ramsey wants to be traded
[QUOTE=illdefined]did everyone forget ALL OF LAST SEASON?? everyone was BEGGING for Ramsey, and now because of a couple pre-season games, we want the disaster of last season? if that's the case then we are WORSE than Philly fans. i have never witnessed such a fan 180 as i have now with people booing Ramsey on the first game. it's shameful.
I was there yesterday and I agree 100% with your criticism of the fans. Ramsey was given about a 2 play grace period before the boos started coming down. It's rediculous. How about letting our starting QB get comfortable at home. Later the crowd even got on Brunell after yelling for him to vome in. Our offense probably prefers to play on the road at this point. I know our QB's are not very good, but it doesn't help them play better when we booh them constantly. Ramsey was booed in the first series for crying out loud...just rediculous.

Re: Ramsey wants to be traded
I am new here (Hello To All The Other Skins' Fans) and I have been a Redskins fan for 30 years.
I say let him go. Goodbye and good riddance. Oh wait, all that really leaves us with is a warrior who doesn't know when to retire. Maybe we can all pool enough money to get Joe back and win another championship, he's not that much older than Brunell. Time to go watch the Vick and McNabb show. |

Re: Ramsey wants to be traded
It's laughable that you would refer to Mark Brunell as a warrior.

Re: Ramsey wants to be traded
I've noticed on various posts Ramsey's situation being similar to that of Trent Green. I don't get the comparison
Gibbs, in my opinion, probably should have never declared Ramsey the starter going into Training Camp. He should have come right out and said "You know what Brunell was hurt last year, we have new receivers, a new game plan for Portis, a new QBs coach. I'm more comfortable with the new rules of the league since I left. Both Ramsey and Brunell are going to get an equal shot this summer and we'll see what happens." Then maybe everyone wouldn't be bitching that Ramsey's been robbed.

Re: Ramsey wants to be traded
Ramsey should chill a bit before demanding a trade right now. Settle down maybe he'll end up starting again. He has been in this offense for 1 year and he looks shaky at best. If he goes somewhere else he's gonna ride the pine also. I know he's full of pride but this is likely an agents demand not his own.

i agree with you 100%. brunell sucked last year, everyone can agree on that but the whole skins' offense sucked. this year the offense looks a lot better and brunel looks like a totally different qb, he actually looks good. ramsey does not look at all comfortable, i like ramsey, i really do but every time he drops back to throw a pass it scares the crap out of me,i worry about him throwing an interception every time. gibbs came back to washington to re-establish the skins as a playoff football team, that is his #1 goal and it is clear that he does not have confidence in ramsey, i think he tried to build some confidence during the off season and during pre-season and even in the first game but ramsey just can't stop making the same bad decisions. i still trust joe gibbs.

Re: Ramsey wants to be traded
Brunell had the majority of a year in this offense, how shaky did he look? we went 6-10 and both our WRs BEGGED to leave. i'm sure that extra year towards middle age and an alleged healed hamstring really helped out his ARM. wait..WHAT??

Re: Ramsey wants to be traded
I hate to say it, and never thought I would be saying this, but I sort of agree with Terry Bradshaw. Man...that really hurt when I typed that. I need to go throw-up now, LOL! Well, I don't agree with everything he said, but concerning the QB position, if this becomes some kind of circus, yeah, just start Campbell. He is apparently our QB of the future.
I don't feel that Brunell will lead us to the promise land, but I think he makes better decisions, and better decisions leads to fewer turnovers. Take away those turnovers from Sunday's game, and maybe the Redskins win 12-0, or 15-0, etc.... point is, I don't care what anybody says, turning the ball over leads to losses, not wins. You can get away with it when you're playing a team that can't move the ball on you, but you won't be able to get away with it all the time or even half the time. Certainly I'm shocked with the decision to start Brunell...I assumed it was only because Ramsey was hurt. I think it sucks for Ramsey, but I never really felt comfortable with him during THIS preseason. So, now it's on a healthy Mark Brunell to prove he still has it. He didn't light it up yesterday, but not many teams will be able to light it up against the Bears this year. Their defense is a mirror image of ours. I like Patrick Ramsey and I believe he has a better arm than Mark Brunell, but like I said before, whoever our QB is, I'll be cheering them on.

Re: Ramsey wants to be traded
Oh...but was I meant to add in my last post concerning Bradshaw...he said that he wasn't the one who felt the game had passed Joe Gibbs by and that Gibbs didn't have anything left. That is a bold face lie, concerning the fact that I remember Bradshaw saying the exact words that "this is a young man's sport and the game has passed Joe Gibbs by."
LOL.....I think Bradshaw lost more than his hair!

Re: Ramsey wants to be traded
Has anyone posted proof that Ramsey ASKED for a trade?

Re: Ramsey wants to be traded
Brunell had more than his chance, 6-10. and that was after a "great pre-season". where exactly is the question mark? these new WRs are faster (further away) and smaller (even easier to miss) than the guys he missed all last season.
pre-season games and 3 drives was NOT a "chance". if Gibbs wants to go back on his word, because that's EXACTLY what he's doing, then he should at least put in Campbell who hasn't already proven his suckiness. |

Re: Ramsey wants to be traded
Many years from now we'll look back on that year when Joe Gibbs declared a young strong-armed QB his starter and proclaimed he would be the guy for years to come. Even though there's a proven veteran backing him up and the team had just drafted a QB in that spring's draft. (or was it the year before?)
And someone will ask whatever happened to those QBs. And someone else will respond "Well that young QB with the bright future, Jay Schroeder, Gibbs didn't like what he saw so he made the unpopular decision and pulled the plug on him in what he felt was the team's best interest. He ended up with the Raiders and didn't do much. The veteran, Doug Williams, got us a ring that season. And the rookie, Mark Rypien, won one for us four years later"
