Re: Post game
It can be. I think people go a bit overboard. Sure Kirk had a bad game, but he's still the best thing that's come through this franchise in a long while. I still have my quirks with him, but not signing him long term would be foolish.
I will say this though, McVay and Barry still a lot to prove, and I would rather move on from Barry. As Schneed noted, not one player is playing above his potential out there and that's not a good sign of a good coach.

I have to agree with this.

Re: Post game
It isn't.just a loss, it is a pattern that isn't.very encouraging. We had our destiny back in our own hands and blew it in an epic way. If we played well and lost, that would be not that bad, but to come out flat in a game with playoff implications isn't good.

Re: Post game
Kirk's contract will be based on his 2015-16 body of work. An off game here and there won't change anything.

Re: Post game
I agree for the most part, but I do believe that not making the playoffs, redzone stats, or being clutch against bad teams like the Panthers will come into negotiating.

Re: Post game
I think Reed lost it because the guy was yanking on his arms. He probably shouldn't have been in the game, because Carolina was probably going to target his injury.

Re: Post game
Having high expectations for a team with a lot of faults is never good. We've won games in spite of our defense, and we've lost games because of our defense. Even the games we won our defense has yet to have a game where they shut down a team. So when a team comes along and shuts down our offense, which is the main reason we win games, our odds of winning decrease to almost nil. Is this team better than it was two years ago? Yes. Is there still room for improvement? Obviously. Have faith in the long term plan. I don't think there's any way McC ignores the defense again this year. And at this point they'll probably bring in a new coordinator just to top it off.

He did take a cheap shot in his injured shoulder earlier in the game though.

Re: Post game
I do agree with this, but that still isn't an excuse for last night. Basically it looked like he went into John Beck mode after he threw the pick. He did not look like a franchise QB last night at all. Sometimes i just wish the guy had a little more Jamies Winston or Drew Brees in him. What I mean by that is have a more of a I dont give a F if I throw another pick attitude and take more chances.

We can't say we are not a playoffs team based on one bad (awful/ugly/pathetic pick your poison) game. Plenty of not so perfect teams make it to the playoffs every year. If we make it there, then we are a playoffs team. If we make it to the playoffs two years in a row, we can be sure this franchise is heading in the right direction.

Re: Post game
I still often question the intelligence of most football players, as in common sense / real life shit - and it always gets me why in the F do these guys throw punches at other guys who are fully helmeted. Even Jon Gruden said Reed is basically an idiot he could very easily have broken his hand

I have read the articles like you all have, that mention his possible landing spots for next year if he becomes a FA - Denver, Houston, Cleveland, San Fran, New York Jets, there is going to be no shortage of teams now to go after him and lock him up.
