Tom Coughlin, Andy Reid or Hank Stram wouldn't have this team 14-2 so everybody just relax and appreciate that we are heading in the right direction for once.. Maybe a year or two from now, we'll be there but don't throw out the positives we've seen and start blaming the coaches.. This is a good start, be excited about it..

Stop with the whole strawman bs... No one has predicted a SB trip this year. I said we would be lucky to get to 8 wins prior to the season. However, when we show success at power running, then go away from that on a Thursday night game, I dont feel bad about saying it was bad scheming going into a Thursday night game. We completely rewrote what we did the first two games going into a short week. That is beyond stupid.

It was Not a bad game plan at all..the running game is dictated by so many other factors ..you only get the ball so many times in a game and if you get down by 2 touchdowns you can't really grind it out and expect to come back..the good teams that make big comebacks almost always do it either big pass plays or turnovers resulting in points..I agree that we should try and run as much as possible but that game went against us from the get go and what frustrated me was Cousins not able to make a big play ..if he is going to throw a lot of interceptions he better dang well be able to hit some big plays!

But you cant go off about us being a bad team and then say the good teams do it so we should also. I also disagree about coming from behind. You do whatever gets you points. If grinding it out gives you points but trying to be New England doesnt, then dont try to be New England and go ahead and grind it out. Especially when your non-elite QB was having a bad night. As I said earlier, if KC was on, the play calls would be pretty good. But when he was struggling all night, try something else.

The fact is we went from a power running game the first two weeks to doing a run game out of pass sets. And did it on a short week to boot.

Pointing out coaching mistakes, that EVERY team, even GOOD teams can have in no way means I'm throwing out the positives or not being excited. In fact I'm very excited about our OL and run game and defense (and Rashard Ross). You know what I'm not excited about? Losing. Especially losing winnable games.

Pointing out that the run game was our strength and should be the focal point of the offense is simply an objective observation. Same with playing inadequate players at punt protector when there are superior players avaiable on the roster, same with PR/KR, same with Roberts on 3rd down same with Carrier/Reed blocking DEs 1-on-1. I'm sorry if discussing these coaching mistakes makes you uncomfortable and forced to resort to hyperbole/strawmen.

Re: Looking ahead to the Eagles

It does eventually get down to the players but Gruden is a subpar head coach in over his head.

Whose job is to recognize that our TEs (other then McCoy) can be effective in combo or double team blocks but not singled up vs a DE?

Whose job is to recognize that Roberts has the drops and not count on him in key spots?

Whose decision is it attack via the pass vs diverse run game with 2-3 TEs?

Whose decision is it not to play Rashard Ross?

Whose decision is to not double ODB?

I can go on...and drill down further into the myriad of coach controlled decisions that can win or lose games.

Coaches matter, scheme matters.

It's why a player succeed in one scheme and fail in another its why rueben droughns can be an 1,000 yard rusher its Alex Smith can go from a bust to solid starting QB...etc...etc...etc...
You should put in an application for a coaching position at Redskin Park. You have all the solutions.

Re: Looking ahead to the Eagles

By my count we're down 9 players? Maybe 10? ..Jackson, SL, Galette, Nacho, Hall, Riley, Paulsen, Heyward, Paul...maybe Culliver. An already below average team can not overcome that.

i'm taking a guess that either Paul or Heyward would have been in there on punt protection over the rookie.

But you guys seem to think a 7,8 win team is going to look awesome every game. Of course they look mediocre. They are. That's not a coaching issue, that's a roster issue. That's the result of almost 20 years of mismanagement in the FO. Get off your high horses and be realistic. SM is fixing the roster but it's going to take a few seasons. Jay has to scheme to the roster as it is and honestly I think he's done a reasonable job. I didn't say a great job. But you can't expect him to wake up one morning 15 games into being a head coach and expect perfection. You want a veteran, get one, but we hired a first time guy, manage your expectations this year. These guys are trying to make chicken salad out of chicken shit and I just want it to taste more like chicken salad than shit for once..

Re: Looking ahead to the Eagles

This is a game we should win. Kinda surprised by folks who say otherwise, I guess they haven't seen the Eagles play. Injuries aren't an excuse in this league...skins at home, wet weather, against a division rival who is struggling on offense and defense...folks I expect Jay gruden to lead this team to a win....and long week to prepare too? Eagles play really gud special teams we have to be ready, but we should with good coaching.

Looking for the w

Just to clarify...

Im on a high horse because I dont buy into your strawman? Or just that I disagree with you is why im on a high horse?

You have made it clear that you think anyone that doesnt agree with you is somehow flawed. Im not the one on the high horse. If someone wants to disagree with me, let them. Im not here to stop them from disagreeing with me. Doesnt mean I cant put out an opinion and people can disagree with me if they want. You already accused me of trying to start an argument earlier and now you are accusing me of being arrogant because I dont agree with you.

Yes, I think rewriting the game plan from the first two games going into a Thursday game was stupid. Deal with it. If you want to debate that, then lets do it. You obviously want to debate this as you keep responding. But stop trying to mandate my opinion for me or claiming im arrogant when I dont immediately change my opinion to match yours. If you cant handle disagreement, then being online is the wrong place for you.

You think a game plan where KC passes 50 times a game is good. I do not, especially going into a short week.

Do you believe that was the game plan at opening kick off?

Who cares? I go by what they do in game. Calling it the game plan was the wrong way to phrase it. Instead of game plan I should have said play calling.

Do you think we ran the ball effectively against the Giants?
