Re: Stick a fork in em', they are done!
I didn't make the rumor up, it was actually talked about in one of the other threads. It stated that the original plan was that RG3 would set out until after the bye, to give his knee extra time to heal.
MS was okay with this idea until someone on his staff (I don't know who, they did not make any suggestions), asked him what would he do if they were undefeated or Kirk Cousins was putting up elite numbers. At that point MS must have known that was only going to cause a controversy, so he decided against it. If Cousins were to start now, and we win, it would be a full controversy, and Mike is wise enough to stay away from it. The season may be lost so he may figure on just calling easy plays and such as to not risk further injury to RG3.

Actually I'd expect best case scenario we do go 3-1, Cousins looks great like he did against Cleveland. If RG3 isn't 100%, let Cousins start longer. After last season nobody is still starting Cousins over a healthy RG3. So what's the problem? More realistically, we go 1-2 or 2-1. We don't risk further injury to RG3. We aren't talking now about tanking the season, just getting to 2-2 or 3-1 til we can get RG3 back. I know you're smarter than that "controversy" thinking SS, just laughing at the idea put out there that Shanny would be against Cousins emerging as a bona-fide starting QB, or us going undefeated. Nobody could be that stupid. Imagines Belichick thinking "Damn better hold back playcalling with this 6th rounder Brady, can't make a controversy with him and Bledsoe". Or Vermiel thinking "All this winning with Warner is so bad! What we will do when Trent Green comes back?" I don't think it would happen, but seriously if Cousins suddenly became the next Tom Brady, what the hell would be our problem? |

That would be the very definition of a good problem. No way KC puts up the HOF numbers it would take to convince anyone to sit RGIII. And no way MS makes the decision in that way. That's just a wackadoodle theory.

The only number that matters is wins.

If you say that it is untrue, i believe you. Yes, I was hearing that rumor which appeared to be partly based on the Howard Eskins report, but like I said, i did not make it up. And now I can't find the thread where it was first mentioned. It doesn't matter. The facts are right now we are in real trouble, trouble at HC, trouble at DEF, maybe trouble at QB. It's going to take a lot to sort this out....We very well may end up 0-4, and then maybe we need to start thinking about next year....

The way I figure it, if the Giants beat the Eagles, and the Broncos beat the Cowboys, the next time we take the field will be for sole possession of first place. Talk about jumping the gun.
