Thanks for the correction on Morgan...he wasn't retained by his former team. Definitely think RGIII factored into the decision and even remember reading it somewhere. Also read a Garcon quote that made it plain Manning didn't extend an invite or anything of the sort. Maybe I'm reading to much into it...but knowing how important chemistry between QB/WR is I tend to think Manning would have liked continuity in his supporting cast.

I think if your hung up on a 2 year contract with a young WR who has shown flashes in a fairly poor offensive scheme before last year, you really shouldnt be. Seasons with 40+ and 50+ catches is not nothing and the contract is pays him not to be a no. one, but a underneath possesion scheme compliment who could become more. Tripp stated the guy who I see, is a younger Gaffney. I dont have a problem with that.
Not hung up on it. It's just not a smart signing. We should be able to get that same production from someone that's currently on the team.... Hankerson or Paul to go along with Gaffney and Moss....then take the money that was given to Morgan and sign an o-linemen.

Well as people know around here I'm not a fan of free agency at all and you just said the reason why. Most of the time it doesn't work. Garcon I can somewhat understand. Morgan I just don't.

So SanFran doesn't see him as a starter, and he's coming off injury. Back to Garcon, it's significant P Manning didn't lobby Garcon to wait in FA and sign the same place. Obviously if Manning said to Garcon "you're coming w/ me" and said to Denver "he's coming w/ me" it would have happened that way.
Exactly.

I cant believe 31% think it is an odrinary offseason. My god man, we trade three ones, and a second to move up 4 spaces to pick Griffin. Thats the most I have ever seen given up for one player. I am happy about it, but ordinary?

Yeah I don't get it either. We could have found a once in a lifetime kind of QB that could bring this franchise back to a level of respectability we haven't seen in 20 years. If that's not enough to get you excited I give up.

I don't see any significance in it myself. I think your theory is a stretch.

I don't know how realistic that would have been, or how fair that would have been for PM to ask that of Garcon. When free agency opened PM didn't even know where he was going yet. So to ask a guy, hey wait a few weeks for me to sign, pass up some big time coin along the way, and possibly have to take a discount to come play with me in the city of my choosing? Doesn't fly if you ask me. Hell even Wayne didn't follow him, does that mean PM doesn't like him too?

I think 99% of the Redskin fans are excited about RG3. It's just a lot to give up for one guy. But I'm not so much concerned about him and his ability. That's not in question. I'm more concerned about the organization that he's coming to.

Can you elaborate on that? The on field product (roster around him) or the organization and its structure (Shanahans, Allen and Snyder)?

One thing I like to do is read opinions about players from fans of the team that lost him. The vast majority of the posts on SF forums were sad to see him go. For a young player that's a very positive sign. To flip it, think of what jet fans see with what a lot of people have to say about Landry.

Honestly I haven't been on a Niners board, but one of my guys in the office is a longtime fan and doesn't think Morgan is a legit starter. He's supposedly not fast enough to outrun CBs and safeties. He sounds like a lesser version of Gaffney but doesn't know the system.
