Good way to put it. Those are teams that draft well on the d-lines.

I can't wait to see the joy when we start signing some O-lineman.
We'll get calls for Chris Samuels to come back from retirement and to bring Rabach back. LOL.

Yeah, if we attack up front, we just picked up two younger-ish players who are very good at that.

Though if we had played an attacking defense, Haynesworth could have been an every down player. We're still going to two-gap it.

If only they'd lurk on the WP, we'd win the Super Bowl every year!

Vinny lurked here...thats why we sucked for all those years lol

So I read that Bowen spent the off season with team mates learning Dallas's new defensive scheme and plays another win for the skin's.

Yeah. Better to pay older guys on the downside of their career based on their past performance.

Hate signing division rivals on principle. that said, does this indicate they don't think much of Carriker? I thought he came on at the end of the year. With drafting Jenkins & signing Cofield there's some competition at DE.

I was thinking the same thing...although I don't mind having a guy like Carriker as a back up.

So we have two starting DL that are familiar with the offenses in the East. I like, I like.
Agree.

So the pressure is on Haslett this year....he's getting a lot of tools to get this 3-4 defense working.

I like this signing better than Cullen Bryant, the guy is big and athletic and is a beast. He didn't play much in Dallas but his days were coming, too bad for the Cowboys and great for the Redskins. He could be the Redskins impact FA signing out of all the ones so far.

Big time.. But I have a feeling that Haslett will be safe because the defense will improve alot, however I'm not sure about secondary though.. I haven't seen enough of Wilson to determine whether if he can hold on his own.. That is unless we are planning to pencil Barnes in as #2 CB.

Re: Redskins sign DE Stephen Bowen

What Shanahallen are doing is creating competition for positions. For too many years players were paid into roles on this team and our results are clearly evident of such. Of the signings we've made thusfar, I don't know that any of them scream 'immediate starter'. We went from having depth that didn't want to be here (Haynesworth), was injured (Kemo) or should have been retired (Daniels) to younger, more athletic, enthusiastic players. HOW IS THIS A BAD THING?
