Sorry but Moss and Thomas really don't scare anyone. It would be nice to see Davis and Cooley in the lineup together w/ Westbrook coming out of the back field.

We're talking about competition/depth accululation of unprecendented proportions. Great luxary to have...The R/B position (even without the thought of Westbrook) is going to present some fierce battles. Adding another high quality player to a position that's obviously going to need adjustment before the season starts is perplexing to say the least, despite the fact Westbrook is a player I wouldn't mind having.

Re: Brian Westbrook Meeting with Redskins on Wednesday

First of all, I just want to point out that with westbrook, portis, johnson, parker, McNabb, Moss, Cooley, Galloway, and our defense on our team, I'm pretty sure we have the most fantasy football points every year from from 3-5 years ago. I'm semi-proud of that.

But with regards to actually signing westbrook, I feel that it would not be good. Not that I wouldn't want to have him, but just because there is NO way that 4 RB's on our team will be able to get touches, especially with 4 players that have to have some of the biggest egos in the league based on their past production. If we sign him, one of the RB's is out the door, and they all know that, they will all be on edge, and that will affect our team chemistry. What westbrook has to add I do not believe to be worth the negative of messing with team chemistry. It will not add to competition either considering that 3 RB's competing for time is more than enough.

I would agree that 4 aging running backs would be too much. It is my understanding that Parker would be the odd man out if Westbrook was signed. I don't know if I read that or dreamed it up, but that is my hunch. If Westbrook is in, Parker is out.

Well to put it more accurately, Zorn's offense didn't scare anyone either. I think this year we'll have a much better indication of what Thomas and Kelly are capable of. Moss, when healthy and focused, can be a darned good receiver.

Redskins Insider - Westbrook-McNabb reunion with Redskins isn't foreseeable

^ that's one writers opinion, not a statement from the team.

Even if the Redskins have no intention of signing Westbrook, this is a good way for him to keep his name out there. Thinking there is still an interest in him can only work to his benifit.

I get it, but I don't feel that teams are in the market of doing players favors for no apparent reason either.

Yeah, they're going to be at the same place anyway, why not talk? It keeps Westbrook AND the Redskins in the news. Not a bad thing for either party.

Not sure who is agent is, but it's not out of the ordinary for agents and GMs to scratch each other's backs.

Adam_Schefter

Sounds like Denver is serious on RB Brian Westbrook, who suddenly has options with the Broncos, Redskins, Rams and who knows who else.
