This is a LONG season, no need to be crowning anybody, NOT even the Pats at this point.
But listen to what you're saying one injury to T.O. or Romo and they're mediocre. Well if that's the case one injury to Phillip Rivers and LT and they're even worse than they are now. One injury to Tom Brady..one injury to Manning and Adai....you see where I'm going?

I hate having this opinion, but Im not going to watch football with Burgundy colored glasses. We are better as a team this season, clearly, but we are not at the Boys level yet. That being said, I do think the Skins match up with them very very well on defense, and the Skins could win when they play later this season.

I have to admit tha the Redskins D is playing 10 times better than last year. Last year was a bad one especially when they were the only team with no forced TO in like 10 or 12 games. I am not like most fans, any given Sunday, I think any team can win. I think the Redskins will have a say in who wins the NFC East. Lots of fans here get down quickly even though their team still above 500.

Romo and Co looked great when he first took over last year and then fell into a lull...lets give it more than 4 games...

It may have been posted before but Dallas will most likely be 5-0 after next week(Buffalo on MNF). The game against NE is critical for everybody else in the East. They follow that game against Minnesota at home. They could very well be 6-1 or maybe even 7-0 before they have 3 straight against the East. They could runaway with this division. The Redskins need to win every week as long as Dallas is playing so well.

A team can't win the Super Bowl in September (Cowboys) but they can sure make it difficult to win (Eagles).

Dallas may be downright scary if their defense catches up to their offense. Regarding good teams, they get on a roll by winning games they should, protecting their home field, and stealing a few against superior teams. Want to know how many winning streaks the Skins have had during Gibbs 2.0? Four total:

2004: none
2005: two - 3 game streak to open and 5 game streak to close the season
2006: one - 2 game streak (Houston & Jacksonville)
2007: one - 2 game streak to open this season

During the same period, we've endured nine losing streaks. We are in year 4 of Gibbs 2.0. Gibbs has had final say on player personnel, and The Danny has granted his every wish in assembling the most expensive coaching staff in history. It is time for this highly paid staff to put up or shut up, starting next week against Detroit. That is a home game against another potential playoff rival that you MUST win if you're a serious post-season contender.

Exactly, and after week 4 Dallas defense has leap-frogged to #7 in total defense in the NFL. After being 25th in week 1, I'd like to think that the defense is improving at a nice pace.

Speaking of the Giants, I've always fellt they are one of these teams they could finish dead last or win the whole division.

While I think Dallas is good, I still want to see them play a decent team. I don't see anyone in their upcoming schedule besides the Pats, and even that won't be a good gauge of how good they are.

Re: Vomiting while I type this, but...

The combined records of Dallas' opponents over the first four weeks is 3-13. How does this not come up more often? In none of the commentary, none of the power rankings, football shows, nobody mentions it.

I'm not saying the Cowboys are terrible, but they have yet to be really tested when their opponents are a combined 3-13. Yes, they have won the games they are supposed to win, which is an excellent start and certainly something the Skins haven't managed to do. But before we hand over the Lombardi trophy and crown Dallas the next dynasty, let's wait until they play a competitive football team.

They do have one hell of a weak schedule this season and I would say will be a playoff contender for sure. Besides the always hard to predict NFC East matchups, the only other quality team they play is NE in week 6.

yea dallas is pretty much torching opposing teams right now. haven't they scored over 30 points in all their games so far ? we still havent even hit the 21 points mark yet, but like everyone says its still early in the season so we'll see what happens.

But the problem is if they're playing all these supposedly crappy teams they have a good chance to end up with a great record and homefield advantage throughout the playoffs.
As Giggity pointed out, they could conceivably start the season out by going 6-1 or even 7-0 before their bye week. If the NFC is really filled with so many crap teams then starting out in that fashion will surely put them at the top of the conference.
Granted, just because they start out hot it doesn't mean that they'll end the season on the same kind of tear, but I just don't get how you can discount 4 straight beat downs. Are you going to tell me the Pats aren't really that good because so far they've only beat the Jets, Chargers (the Norv-version), and the Bills?
What's more important: Who they beat or How they beat them? I'd have to say it's how they beat them.

(obviously the injury bug can strike and a team can quickly crash back to Earth, rendering all this moot)
