Re: Redskins and Titans talking trade again on Albert Haynesworth
I honestly don't think behind the scenes that Shanahan is engaged in this stand off with AH that some seem to think. At this point it's probably up to Haslett as what packages he's playing in, and AH probably just hasn't won his complete trust yet.
Plus with the late start he got in the 3-4 he's just not where he needs to be yet. AH himself just said the transition has been difficult. With the problems we're already having, I'm not sure tossing a guy in there that's not 100% comfortable in what he's doing is really the answer. |

Re: Redskins and Titans talking trade again on Albert Haynesworth
I just wanted to share something with all of you regarding Albert Haynesworth. Everyone is jumping on his ass and calling him this or that or the person you THINK he is. I am not sure if you people here saw the news piece on a guy that had a rare cancer and got to get a VIP walk through of the redskins facility, meet the players, coaches, go through the locker room, meeting rooms, film rooms all that. It was aired probably about a month 1/2 ago on ABC. Kevin Robinson was his name. That is my best friend, and unfortunately he passed about a month ago, not long after that story aired. the point of this post is to let you know AH is honestly a good dude. This was when he wasn't speaking the media, fans or anything and he walked by Kevin and asked if he could have a picture, and AH turned around and said absolutely! Walked over talked to Kevin and his wife for a while. He was the nicest guy he met all day, and he met a ton of the players. Albert said that all the stuff that he goes through means absolutely nothing, that Kevin is an inspiration to a lot of people. I just thought after all the AH bashing, I needed to share that story.

As far as his game, I just hope he gets a shot on the field. Matt, I'm with you on not throwing him out there if he isn't quite comfortable but honestly is anyone on this defense comfortable yet ? It doesn't look that way. Hell Haslett himself doesn't seem that comfrotable but this team has to put the best players on the field. I learned how to drive on the road, not it a classroom. You gotta get that man out there.

Well, he did play more last week than we've seen so that should be a good sign. Not sure how many snaps exactly but he did seem to be in there alot.

Re: Redskins and Titans talking trade again on Albert Haynesworth
#56Fanatic, my condolences on your friend. And I don't doubt that Haynesworth has good qualities as a human being. As do most other players. From people I've spoken to AH is a good guy
However, as cold as this may sound, that's not an excuse for the decisions he chosen to make as a football player. More importantly, the decisions he chosen to make as a member of our favorite team-the Washington Redskins. He made the adult decision not to attend the OTAs and mini-camps and work out on his own. I've got absolutely no problem with that. But when you do all that, I would expect that he would come ready to pass a standard conditioning test and know the defensive schemes. That's my issue with him. I don't mean to take anything away from what he did for your friend, that was certainly a tremendous gesture. But, Danny Wuerffel was with very little argument the nicest, most genuine Redskin I ever met. Absolutely loved talking to him as a person. As a Skins fan, I didn't want him on the field.

Heart felt condolences to you and yours 56.
Nice story about AH. Good to hear he is a person with a heart. But I have to agree with Smoot on his points as well.

SS hit it on the head here. I have no doubts AH has a good side to him, but the way he's conducted his business in football matters has been piss poor to say the least.

Re: Redskins and Titans talking trade again on Albert Haynesworth
I'm sorry but I don't think AH deserves a medal for talking to this guy or taking a picture with him. It's what all but the most horrible human beings would do in that situation. It doesn't do a thing to change my opinion of haynesworth as a greedy narcissistic individual that doesn't deserve the honor of wearing a redskins uniform.

Now what he did in the offseason was pretty shitty. But he has come in, has done everything the coaches have asked and put in extra work. He is a dominant player and needs to be on the field, CONSISTANTLY. not just a play here or there. Seems like i have too many horrible stories of sick people. that is it. No more sick people stories. |
