Re: Griffin's Impact on our Offense
I'm thinking most explosive offensive next season, but then again.... he'll be a rookie.

You need to distinguish between called/designed runs vs. impromptu runs. If you take away the Panthers designed QB runs Cam rarely takes off running without a good reason and when he does he's pretty much gonna get convert for a 1st down (which extends the drive). Cam and Griffin are very much alike in the fact that many people wrongly consider them run first QBs. Quote:
But, it seems patently obvious that the sports media evaluation of Cam Newton was wrong. Cam was drafted No.1 and Cam had one of the best rookie season by a QB ever. If Cam came out this year I would have him as the #1 QB prospect, Griffin #2 and Luck #3. If you think Griffin is way ahead of Newton then why don't you expect similar production? |

Re: Griffin's Impact on our Offense
Our line isn't horrible by any means but Carolina has one of the best in the NFL.

Re: Griffin's Impact on our Offense
Griffin has the potential to have a very good season provided we can protect him.
Kyle's has been fairly consistent with his playcalling balance its been steady around 60 pass/40 run. I don't think Griffin will make Kyle become a more balanced. I actually don't think the offense will change that much. But, Griffin superior skillset and playmaking ability will help make this offense more explosive. |

Re: Griffin's Impact on our Offense
I will say this about Cam. It's completely possible that he'll have a sophomore slump and that his rookie year was a flash in the pan. That said I doubt thats the case. He was way to productive with such a poor supporting cast for me to think that the chance of a true sophomore slump is greater then 2%. True meaning a complete 180 from the player we saw last year.
Now if he's on the cover of Madden thats a different story but I think thats more of an injury waiting to happen than a significant decrease in production.
