Re: Would you take McNabb?

I wouldn't get a vet QB on the downslide of his career who apparently can't get respect from the young players on his own team. This team needs leadership and if the younger players on the Eagles really are going to a 3 year QB who's only started like 2 or 3 NFL games instead I'd rather not waste anything on him.

Kind of like how the Cardinals shouldn't have picked up Jeremy Bridges after we cut him or how the Bengals were stupid for making Benson their starting running back? Sorry, it's not that I want McNabb but we are guilty of overusing this fill in the blanks, between the lines logic.

Yeah, I kinda feel dumb that we didn't pick up Vick for insurance.

I understan what your saying but you're only looking at the "sucessful" stories but what about the other ones? You know how many times teams will trade for a player even though there are reports of charcter flaws (pacman) or in this case a player not earning the trust or maybe even respect of his own offense and it doesn't work out like the few stories you mentioned? I bet you for every one Benson story there's a lot more that don't work out Hell you might find a few on our very own team so it's not like we've been so great at picking players lately especially since Hall and Haynsworth have been so worth the money!! All I'm saying is that if there's reports of this guy not being seen as a leader or a trustworthy person on his own offense we should probably look into it before we start giving out money. Just cause you look at a few stories like Benson's doesn't mean the odds of it happening for us are high I can understand how you'd think that if you ignore the many more when it doesn't work out. I don't expect or think that the odd of any QB to play like Probowlers at Favre and Warners age just cause they can do it how bout looking at the hundreds or thousands of NFL QBs that can't do it? I like Mcnabb but I just don't think he's our solution and the way we played this year I think we need some leadership and someone who has the trust of his offense. It just worries me a little bit when a QB has those kind of reports come out and I know they may not always be true but I don't think he's what we need. I doubt he'll come here anyways so I guess this whole post is just a waste

Yeah, I understand. Like I said I don't even really want to go after McNabb. I just think that a lot of us (myself included) are guilty of using the vague "cut/available for a reason" logic. Of course the opposite is just as bad, that urge inside forum posters to suggest we go after every free agent with a decent Madden rating.

And sorry Angry but Vick was different. We knew the reason he was available, outside of the whole legal thing and he proved it this year. Basically he sucks as a Quarterback.

Re: Would you take McNabb?

Depending on what had to be done to get him, for a year or 2 I would if the deal was good. He's better than what the Skins have and would be an solid bridge between now and the future QB.

Re: Would you take McNabb?

I wouldnt want him to come here.

He has played well for Philadelphia, and even though he can't win the big game, he deserves to end his career on a high note.

He would be a sack dummy here. He's already injury prone and after a few games here, he could be hurt permanantly. I want to see a great guy like him end his career with a team where he has a real chance, like Minnesota, or Chicago or something along those lines...

Re: Would you take McNabb?

I still think McNabb is better than having Grossman. He is still the same QB one day he looks ok then he throws a pic or sack fumble. I feel that everytime he gets sacked he fumbles kind of reminds me of Campbell.
