I'm not dead but this team is dead to me...but now that McCloughan is here they may have new life!

Jay Gruden = Zorny McSpurrier
Kirk Cousins = Next Grossman

Anthoy Alridge and Marcus Mason need to get some touches as well. Portis has lost several steps and its killing us. The OL is the only work in progress that leaves much to desire.
I see. So Marko Mitchell and Anthony Alridge are the answers to our problems but Jim Zorn refuses to let them play. Right.

Our players just aren't very good, and the front office has let the offensive line deteriorate. It's really that simple.

As Tripp points out, Shanahan is probably the likely choice but not the best choice. I worry that Snyder will sign someone like a Shanahan or Holmgren etc to be able to say "See, big time coaches do want to come here." But so what? Don't bring in a big name coach just to bring in a name coach. Do your research man. Shanahan should not have control over personnel.
I agree with GTripp and SS. Shanny had full control of coaching and personnel before and often sucked, especially when it came to personnel. We don't want him wearing both hats although he might insist.

The scenario which brings in Marty Shott. as GM and Cowher as coach is more attractive to me.

Compare our commitment to that of our division rivals on upgrading interior line depth through the draft. 'Nuff said.
Do you know the other difference ? The QB's. Come on now it isn't all on the O-Line. That dude DOES NOT call his own protections even though 2 different OC's have asked him to. Yes the O-Line does need to be addressed now that Thomas is gone and Heyer apparently isn't going to cut it but lets be just as critical of the guy who has control of the ball as well. But I guess he gets a pass.

That would be great. I'm a big fan of Russ Grimm. I'd love for him to take the reins.

Vinny probably won't get fired. He'll either be moved out of football operations altogether or more likely just be kind of a lackey or front office coordinator. Yeah that's probably a good way of putting it. Front Office Coordinator. Sort of like Sherman Smith. He'll compile all the information, run the weekly meetings, but when it's game time his advice will be taken but he won't make the final decision. Basically he'll do what he did under Gibbs and what Scott Campbell is doing now.

Unless we want a repeat of what the boys have done, we should hire an ASS KICKIN' GM......now and CHARGE him to handle the rest...all of it. That's what they do!

I'll take moving Vinny out of football operations. Of course, we also have to consider everyone else who aids in scouting for talent and making decisions on draft picks, free agent picks, etc.

Shanahan isn't the answer. That incredibe run in 96-98 was with Elway & TD. His last three years were 24-24.
