Holmgren will be the next coach here and I bet Lewis will be the OC. Count on it. I think Zorn's playcalling has done him in. |

Re: Redskins hire offensive consultant
I really wish we could go 5 minutes without Snyderatto trying to "fix" things. The Redskins are composed completely now of all their various "fixes". How many times have they gone fishing for a RB after the season is underway? It' absurd. I know it's hard to accept when you have control issues, but there's nothing you can do about it now. So stifle yourselves.
Also remember, The Two Bobs came to the conclusion that MANAGEMENT was the real problem. I just wish the Redskins had TPS reports to tie down Vinny so he couldn't engage in these monkeyshines.

Desperate times call for desperate measures. Lets hope Lewis can help Zorn find his glasses whiles game planning.

Re: Redskins hire offensive consultant
The offense already lacks a cohesiveness, or rather an identity. Not sure how bringing in another helps that unless this guy has a vision for our players on offense and is actually allowed to implement what he wants. Doesn't sound like that's the story here. Also the dude isn't gonna be our HC at 67 and a bunch of time out of the league.
...on the other hand if Lewis real job is to work w/ the WR corp and generally the passing game this could be a great move. Going off percentages, kicking Hixon to the curb makes us 30% better instantly, replacing him w/ someone who can teach our WR talent to play like WRs gets us another 35%, so we could possibly be 65% better in a few weeks OMG I'm so excited.

Re: Redskins hire offensive consultant
I don't know... I feel that this might be more of a FO position to help with the drafting and long term development of the offensive players. IMO, I feel Snyder is pretty comfortable with the drafting and development of the defense. However, far be it from me to delve into the psyche of Snyder or Cerrato.

Re: Redskins hire offensive consultant
Why can't this "smell" of trying to give Zorn every chance to succeed. If you want to prep for another coach, then you probably bring (my first thought) Holmgren in. And he starts making plans. You want to give Zorn a shot, you bring in a well respected, but out of the business name.
Maybe it's no more than an experienced advisor to guide Zorn in the transition to a SB caliber HC. |

Re: Redskins hire offensive consultant
WTF...Most of you guys sound retarded this is soooo dumb, picture yourself working somewhere trying to work out the kinks on a new job and your boss hires an older consultant to come "help you out" sure....handwriting is on the wall fellas/gals...
If it is gonna fail let it fail on its own and blow it up at the end of the year don't put a freaking bandaid on at early season, who the hell does this Al Davis?? add to the list Dan Snyder, I know he is the biggest fan, but dam dude has an ego that only compares to no one this is stupid.... Either win now or let it blow the hell up just stop screwing with it in the middle of the freaking season, this does no one any good!!!!!! |

Re: Redskins hire offensive consultant
Well you are going to have to blow up the team if you want all the pieces on offense to fit right. Like other guys have said perviously, you have a team that until draft '08 was centered around Gibbs' offense. The switch to the WCO hasn't been all that great thus far, in fact we regressed tremendously after the '08 Lions game. Sherm Lewis might be able to help some, but he can't help all that much with a banged up line and a WR corp that is weak other than Santana. I like Sherm and think he can only do good for us, but this was an act of depseration or Dan is already getting the wheels greased up for Sherm or Holmgren to take over next season. Maybe we can get both of them together again!!!!! Either way you are going to have to do some dismantling of the offensive personnel. Holmgren/Lewis will have to get the right personnel in there to successfully run the WCO or you if you land a yet to be named guy, he might not run a WCO and we are back to where we were when Spurrier quit. A major rebuilding effort might be unavoidable, as we have both a systemic and personnel problem.
