Re: Thoughts on Eagles/Redskins
Our OL needs to do what they did last week, contol the running game and the pass rushers. Our DL needs to put pressure on McNabb. I would start Horton over Doughty, i watched the last Dallas drive and saw Doughty get burned 3 straight times, 2 by Witten and 1 by Miles Austin for a TD. The Philly receivers are good, not great and should be respected, especially the rookie who could be dangerous..

Re: Thoughts on Eagles/Redskins
Since this isn't the official prediction thread (right?) I'm gonna sandbag a little longer.
There are three themes for this game I expect to emerge: 1) First and foremost this will be a coaching chess match. Reid will have studied his brains out finding our weakness on both sides of the ball and look to exploit everything he can. Zorn will do the same, and while he's at an experience disadvantage IMHO he has a bit of an overall advantage because I believe win or lose we have the more talented roster; 2) Highly unlikely the Eagles score more than 13 or 14 points - our defense is locked in right now and we haven't even seen Landry break-out yet, which I predict happens this Sunday and I'm talking INT action and some highlight worthy hits; 3) our d-line got no pressure on Romo and I'm sure no respect from Blache this week - I expect them to come out swingin against Philly even w/o the services of JT.

Re: Thoughts on Eagles/Redskins
Philly always causes us problems. Its not just McNabb and Westbrook, heck Reggie Brown has torched us in the past as well. Then there's the blitz. I see a tough game, Philly is very familiar with the WCO and I anticipate them doing some things to confuse Campbell. Hopefully Cooley can break out, low scoring game with whichever team can force turnovers coming out on top.

Gibbs DID bring respect back to the Skins and set up up for future success though, we were in the toilet after he left the first time.

Re: Thoughts on Eagles/Redskins
This game should be a great, physical, one. philly fighting to remain out of the cellar, and the skins looking to secure another division win. I think this game has the possibility of being a better fought out one than last weeks.
i dislike philly but over the years have grown a great respect for Mcnabb and Reid. both those guys ooze class and ethics. Always a tough matchup |

Re: Thoughts on Eagles/Redskins
This will be a extremely tough game. Donovan McNabb and Brian Westbrook always give the Redskins trouble. It looks like the Eagles will be without one of their big weapons, Westbrook, and that may help. The Skins defense have to contain McNabb , pass rush up the middle and keep him in the pocket. When he is able to escape to the outside, he creates big plays. Covering DeSean Jackson is also a priority. Jackson is also dangerous on special teams. The biggest concern is the Redskin offensive line versus Philly's blitz packages. Zorn will need to dial up a good mix of runs and passes with effective hot reads. Jason Campbell will need to continue to be efficient and make quick reads and get rid of the ball quickly. Turnovers will determine the outcome of this game.
Redskins 31 Eagles 24

Re: Thoughts on Eagles/Redskins
I know everyone here is super excited about how great the Skins are because we beat the cowgirls....other than that we had close wins against the cardinals and the saints who were injured. Perhaps I am a little cautious but...
The Eagles MUST ABSOLUTELY win this game at home...if they don't they are totally screwed. If Westbrook is practicing, he Must play this game in my opinion. Their defense is a very good and I know they will be scheeming to jump short routes during blitzes to see if they can get a pick. I am not going to make a prediction, but the pressure is totally on the Eagles and virtually none is on the Skins....however, if the Skins win this game, which is inconstant with this teams mid year performances in the past few years, I will officially jump on the Kool Aid bandwagon....ps...I still voted a 3 in confidence in Zorn so I realize I am a skeptic. Go Skins....steal one from a desperate Philly for us!

Re: Thoughts on Eagles/Redskins
I heard an interview with Zorn this morning talking about his first game in Philly as Seattle's rookie QB. They were standing in a huddle on the sidelines during a timeout and one of the linemen yelled "OUCH!!!!!"
An Eagles fan shot him in the leg with a pellet gun. Zorn said "everyone keep your helmets on!" He was always a leader.

Re: Thoughts on Eagles/Redskins
If we win this game, with back to back road wins at Dallas and Philly, we are looking at a team that could be very special. I love seeing our team make noise in the ultra competitive NFC East.
