Re: 12th's 5 Reasons Why The Skins Beat N.E.
The NE run game has to be respected. They can run the ball on us if we sit back in the cover 2 a lot.
I see GW mixing it up a lot w/his calls, maybe seeing how much pressure our front 4 can generate before calling blitzes. |

Re: 12th's 5 Reasons Why The Skins Beat N.E.
I see the Skins going into the coliseum aka Gillette Stadium and running the rock down their throats. I see the Skins putting together their best effort and coming home with the biggest win of the year. Greg Williams needs to take zone blitzing to another level. Let Taylor and Landry prove they can cover the deep ball and run support with the best of them. Blitz the hell out of them dont let Brady get in a rhythm. We win this game I'm putting my chips on the pretend table who ever wants in get in!! LOL

This will be interesting. But for reasons I've posted, I just don't see N.E. bombs away with Taylor back there. Yes, Welker and Stallworth are nice, but they haven't really faced three starting corners all year either. Furthermore, as soon as you guys bring your punter on the field after the first drive, both sides will know it's time to dig in and fight. |

But do you see Dallas or New England hanging 48 on us.

Patriots are #4 in overall defense, Redskins #5 Patriots are #4 vs the pass, Redskins #8 Patriots are #9 vs the run, Redskins #5. The only way to beat the Patriots is to generate a ton of turnovers. The other way to beat them is with a bat while they are sleeping. |

New England is averaging 40 points per game. If we can knock off that average by 9 points, our defense will have done its job. I'll post this in the official prediction thread, but I see this game resulting in a 34-24 win for the Pats.

Can we let Jason Campbell call his own plays this week? It can't be worse than what we have seen so far. Maybe he finds a rhythm. At the very least we would not have any delay of game penalties while we decide plays by committee.

RBs against Skins in 2007: 1-R. Brown 32 yds, 2.9 ypc/J. Chatman 15 yds, 2.1 ypc 2-B. Westbrook 96 yds, 5.6 ypc (long of 27 yds) 3-D. Ward 94 yds (26 rushes), 3.6 ypc/Droughns 3 yds, 1.0 ypc 4-BYE 5-DET: K. Jones 48 yds, 4.4 ypc/T. Bell 15 yds, 3.8 ypc 6-GB: D. Wynn 37 yds, 2.8 ypc/V. Morency 11 yds, 2.8 ypc 7-ARI: E. James 83 yds (27 rushes), 3.1 ypc I was curious. So no RB has hit 100 yards yet this year. Brian Westbrook was closest with 96 yards, helped by a 27 yard-run. The Skins allow an average of 80.7 rushing yards a game, 5th best in the NFL. For comparison's sake, the Patriots give up 92.7 a game. If Maroney plays, he might have a slow day. If they have to rely on Faulk and Evans, they should just keep 5 WRs in all game. The Skins do have 8 INTs this year, near the top of the league (leaders have 10 but some didn't have bye week yet). 2 went back for TDs (tops in NFL) They'll have to beat us through the air, which they're certainly capable of, but it will be the biggest test to the Pats so far this season. They haven't really played a good pass D yet, even the Cowboys are middle-of-the-league against the pass, not very good. Our secondary is great. Our whole D is actually, now ranked #5 in the NFL, we were #3 last week. We're still ranked #1 in the NFC. Sure I'm nervous, but because of our D, we have the best chance of anyone so far to beat the Patriots, or even play them close. |

The Patriots are averaging 40 points per game. The Redskins are averging 20 points per game against much worse defenses than that of the Patriots. New England has a top 5 defense and they are playing at home. Barring Brady, Moss and Welker catching the 24 hour clap, or, the stadium falling down, I'd say 34-13 Patriots is more accurate.

Re: 12th's 5 Reasons Why The Skins Beat N.E.
right now I am realistically saying 38-24 Pats but my homer prediction is 30-24 in OT Redskins win.

You're wrong about the "much worse" statement. Team - rank Pats - 4th Giants - 8th Cardinals - 9th Eagles - 11th Packers - 15th The Lions and Dolphins are the only bad Ds we've played and we won both games. The Dolphins were fully healthy then too, they've played without Zach Thomas for a few games since. |

I have the utmost respect for Tom Brady and this offense, but I dont think people understand how good this defense is. This is the same coach who took Randy Moss away every time we have played him, remember he shut Randy down with Garnell Wilds covering him, thats right. I really think this is the only secondary in the league that can match up with you guys, not saying we will shut you down, but we definately match up, I hope Welker is ready to get hit in the mouth. Its always cool to meet a fan from another team thats not a jackass. |
