If he was on roids he probably be much better, rather than scared to death to take a hit, and unable to complete a pass beyond 10 yards. Well you have been mocking certain individuals over the coarse of the last couple of years who have stated that some of these moves in which we have overpaid players is going to hurt us in the long run, what's your responce now? Looks like they knew what they were talking about after all. How's that 43 mil for a QB ready for the scrap heap looking at this point? He was a part of 1 playoff victory, I say apart because it was our defense that won that game in spite of Brunells ineptitude. Brunell 43 mil Arrington 68 mil Portis 50 mil The first 2 are a complete waste of money, we would have been fine with another quality back, either Jones from Detroit, or Jackson from St. Louis, both would have been avail. in the draft to us, and Jackson actually fits Gibbs style of running. 161 million dollars on 3 players, have any idea what we could do with that money to help the overall state of our team? Not to mention the picks we gave up to complete 2 of those deals. Don't worry Matty your boy will restructure, he's to smart not to know that the rest of the league knows he's finished, he's nothing more than a emergency QB at this point who's scared to take a hit, he's got it to good with us to throw it away over a few dollars to go ride the pine somewhere else for less than he would get from us to start. |

Re: Brunell Reluctant to Renegotiate Deal
Finished after a 23 TD, 10 INT, 3050 yard season?
You been hitting the bottle again? Anyway, now back to reality. Yes Brunell and Arrington's contracts are an issue, but both are likely to restructure. As for Portis his base salary for '06 is only $545K... not too bad for a top 5 back. |

Re: Brunell Reluctant to Renegotiate Deal
These threads are starting to crack me up. We could be talking about the turf at FEDX field and somehow Brunell's horrible QB skills comes up.

Speaking of the turf at FedEx, I don't like the way it looks on Brunell's jersey. Green isn't his color. But he sure sucks doesn't he? |

I think like Tafkas, you too will have to consider a name change Ramseyfan - Super Moderator. Have you put any thought into it yet?

but can we please get back to what's really important...will the CBA crisis make 2006 the year of THE ADE?? Maybe he'll be a Troy Brown like DB/WR/KR!

Re: Brunell Reluctant to Renegotiate Deal
We don't know all the details but the Redskins have to take responsibility for their gambling with the payroll and overzealousness in signing certain free agents, etc. You can't expect everyone to fall over themselves to cut their pay and risk getting cut sooner to make up for these mistakes. Mark Brunell renegotiated last year and he may even this year once the dust settles with the CBA. I think he's a terrific quarterback and a huge reason for our resurgence, and deserves a lot of respect and appreciation.
