Re: Campbell or Brunell in 2006?

I voted for Campbell but realistically I wouldn't commit to either one until after at least the first two pre-season games. If Campbell looks good, might as well let him start. Brunell saved us in a couple of games with his scrambling on 3rd and long. If Campbell can keep drives alive as much as Brunell (admittedly not that often) then he should go ahead and start. Maybe I'll change my opinion at Fan Aapreciation Day.

Aren't receivers supposed to make plays after the catch anyways? All the good QB's in the NFL have a good cast surrounding them.

he fumbled 11 times and either way 10 > 6, i don't think the post you're replying to ever mentioned ratios.

Brunell with short leash. As long as Campbell is coming along. Come to think of it...this is a STUPID thread, why do we do this EVERY year? Just for something to talk about?...What happens...happens!!! Al will do what he thinks is right with HIS system. I myself suspect alot will depend on preseason, much like this year. Who the hell knows! Go Skins, Go Gibbs, Go D!!!!

UGH. Did we fail 4th grade math?

2004: 8 games, 5 fumbles = 0.62 fumbles per game
2005: 16 games, 10 fumbles = 0.62 fumbles per game

If you play twice as many games, of course your fumble total is going to go up!

before you go around calling people stupid you should make sure you're not the one being a fscking moron, he fumbled 11 times, not 10, so maybe you should learn how to read.

Unless I'm looking at his stats wrong, he "only" fumbled 10 times (one fumble he recovered against the Cardinals so I don't think you count that)

Now if you include the playoffs then yes he fumbled 11 times, but then you're talking 11 fumbles in 18 games, not 16..

Let's put this to rest, guys.

6 fumbles in 9 games in the 2004 regular season.
11 fumbles in 16 games in the 2005 regular season
http://www.nfl.com/players/playerpage/1032

1 fumble in the 2005 postseason
http://www.nfl.com/players/playerpag.../gamelogs/2005

You count everything he put on the ground, regardless of who recovered it.

So, that's
.667 fumbles/game in the 2004 regular season
.685 fumbles/game in the 2005 regular season
.500 fumbles/game in the 2005 playoffs

Campbell in the 1# slot will gives the team the best chance to win. There is no reason to wait if Campbell is ready to take the wheel. Brunell must admit he has lost a step and should be ready to take the roll of veteran backup.

May the best QB come out on top in training camp next season. I'll support either Campbell or Brunell, but would like to see the future sooner rather than later.

nfl.com says 11 fumbles in the 2005 regular season and they're the authority. If they counted that one against the cardinals then it's not discounted.

I know they counted it as a fumble, but then he recovered it so in my mind it's negated because it wasn't a turnover. But whatever.

Re: Campbell or Brunell in 2006?

I'd like to have Campbell in just to see if he's good or not. If he isnt, then Brunell should be qb.

Cambell needs to get the exp in sometime. He was a great investment that cant be let go to waist. Brunnel should be more then happy to teach the youngin how to play who knows we may have a peyton manning on our hands and were playing brunnel
