Re: Redskins free agent signings 2018
Im speaking right now...Vernon Davis was a bum last year, especially blocking. Fumbling, drop catches and most of all his inline blocking was god awful. He almost got Cousins killed a couple times.

You ever listened to Cooley Oline break downs after games? Brutally honest...the interior Oline (outside of the obvious) was fucking garbage. Starters and depth. |

Re: Redskins free agent signings 2018
Did you read the breakdowns. They were straightforward. No one is saying that our depth is probowl talent, you won't get that when you pull a guy off the street and play him on Sunday. But 4 of our starters are solid, 2 are PB/AllPro quality. You draft a LG, you pick the best 2-3 potentials and get some undrafted guys in to compete.

Re: Redskins free agent signings 2018
Still not a good strategy, imo. Redskins offense is heavily designed around Reed - since he always gets injured, we need someone to step in and provide productivity that is at least close to what Reed can provide and we know Davis can give us that. As of right now, we have Reed, Davis and Sprinkle. We cut Davis and Reed gets injured (likely to happen again at some point), we will depend on Sprinkle and other rookie to step in?

The entire TE position needs to be overhauled. Can't do it this year, but hopefully next year they address it. I guess they've already started by not bringing Paul back. You can not go into a season with Davis and Reed and expect to be able to have a running game. Really both of them need to go.

Re: Redskins free agent signings 2018
I wonder if Reed could play WR if he dropped about 10 or 15 lbs. I'm serious too. They split him out enough so play his ass out there so he doesn't have to deal with any LB's. He might be able to block NFL DB's. Asking him to block a NFL LB is like asking a gazelle to fight a lion. It ain't a fair fight.

Re: Redskins free agent signings 2018
Looks like the Pernell McPhee signing is getting close to becoming official:
JP Finlay Verified account @JPFinlayNBCS Pernell McPhee expected to finalize deal with #Redskins today, per sources. Outside linebacker will help in pass rush and set run edge. I hope we can sign Hankins sometime this week. I feel that with all of these signings, the team can have more flexibility in the draft. Also, signing Hankins wouldn't count against us getting compensatory picks next offseason, since he was cut by Indy.

I do find it odd that Hankins hasn't been signed by anyone yet.. Maybe he's just not that good? I haven't even heard any news about the guy.

As long as they feel he is worth it, I wouldn't mind spending on Hankins. Having him along with J. Allen and Ionnadis would make a hell of a interior line.

Re: Redskins free agent signings 2018
I hope they get it done, means we can look at LG/LB/RB early on.

The Skins are clearly waiting on him, they're saving cap space specifically for him. I have a high degree of confidence he winds up in DC.
