Now, the priority absolutely is for the guys to be well coached. But I don't think this discussion is irrelevant at all. Plus, I've often read here, as an argument for "it wouldn't change much", that we already play a lot of snaps in a 4-3... which is false: we rarely do. We do run a lot of snaps in Nickel 4-2-5 but very rarely in a 4-3. You have to think it does make quite a difference against the run.

I just think it’s funny since people were clamoring for the 3-4 for years. And I think it’s more important who’s coaching the D vs the base alignment we run about 30% of the time. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Re: Giants Pregame Thread
Thats 100 % on point. But I don't think anybody here would take Manusky in a 4-3 vs virtually anybody else in a 3-4.

Everybody knows you don't stay in the 3-4 alignment except a small percentage of the time. I agree, if our personnel is better suited for a base 4-3 we need to switch. |

I believe it's better because the available personnel coming out of the draft fit the requirements of a 4-3 better. We haven't had that unicorn who is a long, twitchy, natural olb the whole time we have been a 3-4. We haven't had that 375lb immovable object to gum up the middle. Pot Roast was so out of shape he couldn't be effective two plays in a row. We haven't had the incredibly fast ilb who are heat seeking missiles a 3-4 requires. Our two fastest ilbs have been Keenan Robinson and Cole Holcolm. Arguably, if someone (Fletcher) has great instincts and knowledge, it can make up for speed. Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk

Re: Giants Pregame Thread
Allen, Payne, Mat I should be single gapping and whipping the dude in front of them every play.
Kerrigan, Sweat should never drop. They should be reading screens and boots on the way to sacking the QB because they are DEs, not olb. Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk

I'm ready for a real d coordinator, not this bullshit we’ve been on...and I can’t argue with Jelly. I agree.
I like to see Anderson-Foster-Holcomb over Sweat-Allen-Payne-Matt I SDH and Foster when we go nickel

Re: Giants Pregame Thread
Don't you sign Bostic back ? He's having a tremendous season IMO. And we don't know what Anderson would give us as a 4-3 OLB...

I think Anderson been good and 4-3 olb seems like a more natural fit. Rueben Foster was built to mlb in a 4-3..hope that injury is better and is ready to go

The fact that Holcomb is a rookie and Foster being healthy and Anderson making the transition successfully are both ifs makes me want to keep the one sure thing we have at ILB. Envoyé de mon SM-J320FN en utilisant Tapatalk

Just heard on Sheehan's pod ( 12-20-19 @ 1 hour and 6 min) from Friday that Sweat dropped into coverage 12 times against the eagles. Just put into text for posterity you're ok with that. That the 3-4 isn't a big deal... Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk

I can't wait to draft Young and see him cover tight ends.

Re: Giants Pregame Thread
Have to lose today to make that a reality and hope he doesn’t go back to school when he hears Bruce Allen is still around.

That is why BA will be fired. Chase may go back to school with Bruce around, and we won’t be able to get an NFL premium HC or DC either. Alex Smith will fill into Bruce’s shoes, as Snyder’s buddy and advisor. Snyder won’t be able to get the big “SPLASHES” in the off-season that he craves, either with Chase or the HC, with Bruce Allen as part of the organization. Hopefully, I’m right about BA -but you never know what Snyder is going to do, because he is an NFL idiot. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Re: Giants Pregame Thread
We all hope BA is gone, but I hardly think that BA has anything to do with Young's decision whether or not to return to school.
