Funny how similar they are, but Smith is better when it comes to turnovers. |

Re: Redskins trade for Alex Smith
So do you guys think smith is better than McCoy? All I hear is how bad we would be with colt under center.. we still have top pick and with many holes this team has I can’t say it’s the wrong move ..it was obvious cousins wanted out well he gets his wish but here is a question , can the team still get anything for cousins?

The important takeaway for everyone - Alex Smith will count $17M on our 2018 cap. And for the 4 Years after, will average $23.5M on our cap. Cousins took up $24M this year. This frees important resources.

Cousins just didn’t want to be a Redskin, brother. Just gotta deal with it and stop crying over milk spilled in 2015.

This, I agree. And I'll really agree or agree somewhat less when the exact contact details of the extension come out. Its a bold move Cotton.

Re: Redskins trade for Alex Smith
Were you really excited about paying Cousins top dollar? Don’t we all remember the Giants in week 17 the last two years?
Cousins was good for us, but not great. He had brain fart games and turned the ball over far more than Smith. Smith had 5 INTs and lost only 4 fumbles. Cousins was far worse with caring for the ball.

Re: Redskins trade for Alex Smith
You put Alex smith on the Skins this year with no running game and little at wr...what is his numbers?
Kelce, Kareem hunt, Hill...decent Oline. Great cast coming off a career year.

Chico will be fine once he gets back into our stratosphere. Someone had to be the angriest. He fell on the grenade.

Re: Redskins trade for Alex Smith
I'm not sure I like this trade. I bet Colt could probably put up similar numbers as Smith. Why would you give up a draft pick and a player when you might have the same guy already on your roster? This smells like Bruce Allen.
I do give the Redskins some credit for putting an end to this Cousins saga. He's not worth north of 25 million. Smith might even be the better player cause he can make plays with his legs. I'm going to try and give the Redskins the benefit of the doubt here. But I want to know which player we're giving up in this deal. |

Re: Redskins trade for Alex Smith
And Cousins still wasn’t as good in 2015 or 2016 when he had Reed, DJax, and Pierre.

Re: Redskins trade for Alex Smith
This is what I believe too. There aren't many in the league who would have eeked out 7 wins.

Re: Redskins trade for Alex Smith
27-30 million >>>>>> 23.5
You can get a stud like Swearinger for 4 million, you can get a beast with 7 million. I expect to see a Zach Brown extension real soon. That'll be nice. Learn that zone defense baby.
