Re: Redskins about to pick again
Jared Newberry
Official Bio College: Stanford Height: 6-1 1/8 Position: Outside Linebacker Weight: 234 Class: Senior 40-Yard: 4.75 SCOUTING REPORT Strengths: Excellent athletic ability...Has a non-stop motor and is seemingly all over the field...Does a nice job in coverage...A gamer and was very productive...Team leader and captain. Weaknesses: Undersized for the pro game...Needs to add bulk and get stronger...Struggles when forced to take on blocks...May need to have a couple of big tackles in front to allow him to roam and make plays. Notes: Doesn't have the physical tools you look for but could succeed in the right scheme...Could project as a nice backup and special teams player at the next level.

Re: Redskins about to pick again
im guessing after that bio that he is going to be pretty much just a special teams player for a while

Re: Redskins about to pick again
From some assessments.....Newberry-POSITIVES Moves well latterally and has good instincts, keys and diagoneses quickly. Very good range to play ot the sideline, natural athlete and will fly to the ball. plays fast and has a passion for the game. TIme blitzes nicely. Can sift through traffic and makes a lot of plays in backsie pursuit. Great body contral and change of direction. best in coverage and shows good enough cover skills to make a switch to strong safety. reliable tackler. very smart. NEGATIVES production dropped as a senior, undersized, stuggles taking on blocks, marginal strength. Gives ground to run around blocks at times and takes himself out of plays. limited power and explosiveness on contract. Gets knocked around at point of attack. Does not use his hands well to shed. ....................
Overall not bad.......
