Yes, no, maybe. He agreed that they had sex. For a rape conviction, all that is then needed is proof that it was nonconsensual. If she says it was nonconsensual and a jury finds her statement credible, that is enough for conviction.

Re: Brian Banks

I know it's linebacker but don't know if it's ILB or OLB. Think he has a better shot as an ILB spot on our roster.

i understand that but where was the proof of nonconsensual sex in this case? There was none. This girl had no injuries. Was there any chain of command here? Some heads should be rolling. I know it happens far too often in our justice system...even for murder cases. I hope this young man gets compensated for this tragedy. And I hope the women that did this to him is somehow punished.

He's a real long shot but I hope he makes a team. What a story that would be.

Nonconsensual does not mean force or violence were necessary to the rape. It means she said no. There are any number of reasons why she would have no injuries. What if a woman submits to rape in order to avoid further injury? There is simply no duty for the woman to do anything more than say no. She is not under a duty to fight, resist or otherwise escalate the inherent violence of a rape.

Unless you were there, knew the facts, understood how Mr. Banks and the woman would present to a jury, had access to all the evidence, forensic & testimonial, had an understanding of the jury to pool and judges you would potentially be presenting to, you simply are not in a position to evaluate the likelihood of success or failure of either the prosecution's or the defense's cases. Sure it looks cut and dry and hindsight is 20/20 but assuming that, b/c the end result was wrong, it should have been obviously so to everyone along the way is simply naive.

But, what do I know about the law, it's not like I have been doing this sh** for 20 years.

And with this, I whole heartedly agree.

Re: Brian Banks

He's probably a practice squad guy at best, but I'm sure he'd take it.

I thought that the Redskins and all the other teams that were giving this guy a look were more about postive PR and making a nice gesture for a guy thats been severely wronged. But if Seattle has made an offer and the Redskins still want to spend a day with him, perhaps he has more than a shot then we think?

Banks' trainer is Gavin Macmillan with Sports Science Lab. Does anyone know of him, is he legit?

Remember this guy:

Has anyone else (non kicker) made the NFL without college in recent times?

Re: Brian Banks

Well i dont know if Banks looked good or not in the video but the dude is incredibly well spoken. If you talked to him on the street you would have no clue that this guy spent a good portion of his early adulthood in jail. I thinking he must have spent a lot of his time there reading and maybe did some jail-college?

I appreciate the fact that people are giving Banks a second shot. I understand that many times in life helping someone out is often beneficial to your own success. A lot of times success is a win win and mutual. Its also positive when you gain from someone else's help, when in fact the apparent selfless act by another may in reality be selfish. In general i think if your acts are beneifical to others than it doesnt really matter what your motives are.

I dont know much about Pete Carroll. Id like to think hes a good guy, we both have the same given name. But I think everyone questions his ethics to a degree at USC, and how he left the school considering the timing of everything.

So what's Win Forever Tony Robbins nonsense? Why didnt Seattle release the video, why did his motivational producation company get the rights? I really hope his camp offer was genuine and not purely for his own benefit.

Im guessing ILB. Hes a little shorter at 6'2", not sure about weight.

Apperently he ran a sub 4.7 40 at Seattle which is around the same or faster than Keenan Robinson.
