Doubtful that all the fellows following the Broncos are of the "zealous" Protestant variety.

Why do you find the thought of that so provocative?
or does it threaten you in some way?

No they arent, but the causal(NFL) and religious fan will buy the Jersey to support what he stands for.

Re: Tebow leads April jersey sales (McNabb #2)
He's actually not "born again." Born agains are people that lost their way in life and then "found Jesus" as they say. Tebow is the son of missionaries. He's been this way from day 1. Sure he's a religious guy, but he's not fake, and he doesn't walk around pushing his beliefs on people. He's just himself- and intense, competitive, and very religious dude. He'll be good for the NFL just for the charity work he'll do while he's in league, even if he never amounts to much as a player.
With shitheads like Big Ben, Santonio Holmes, Marvin Harrison, Pac Man Jones, and all the other trouble makers, guys like Tebow are good for the NFL, even if he never turns into a star player.

Re: Tebow leads April jersey sales (McNabb #2)
The character part is a good thing, but just because he is religious doesnt mean he is a good guy. We all know examples of people that arent.
Thats what I am not too thrilled about. How people just assume he is some sort of angel because he hates abortion. Now he is probably is a good guy, and he can support whatever he wants. Let's not just assume all those who are not religious, or open about their beliefs, are somewhat lesser than Tebow.

Actually I don't know how his missions groups work, just how many others do.

Re: Tebow leads April jersey sales (McNabb #2)
Touche. What I mean is he doesn't go into a locker room and tell someone how they should think religiously. He offered a bible study group to some of the guys on the Florida team who were actively christian, but that's about it from everything I've heard/read.

Re: Tebow leads April jersey sales (McNabb #2)
In an ideal world they shouldn't, but player stock/perception is all relative. People who are "religious" are immediately portrayed as high character and good guys. IMO thats unfair to someone who does not have that belief. They are immediately viewed as lesser, all else things being equal.
