When I mentioned Landry being fast, I was just pointing out that despite all that speed, he can't cover his eyes. His favorite Sunday brunch is pump fakes.

Re: Rocky trade is a possibility
Just because the previous regime left you with no picks, doesn't mean it makes any sense to trade away starters for more picks.
You bite the bullet, make your four picks, and move on to next season keeping your full complement of picks intact for 2011.

Re: Rocky trade is a possibility
Well, we already took a page from previous regimes and shipped away a 2nd this year and a 3rd or 4th next year for a highly paid 30 something veteran. Not that McNabb was a bad move, just saying.

Either 1 is an upgrade. In my opinion, this draft is strong in the top 110-120 players. After that, it's scraps; special teamers and long term projects. It's not worth trading any of our guys at a discount unless they could get into the top half of the 4th round or better, not likely. Haynesworth is the only one, and they won't get fair value him either. Trade players for players, no one is giving up quality picks. |

I want to trade Campbell. I'm a huge Jason Campbell fan, but I think if we can get a 4th or better for him, we should trade him. If they think Haynesworth is a cancer, and they can get something of value for him (2nd or better) than I guess I'll understand... but it makes no sense to trade these guys just to have a few extra picks on Saturday. Honestly, after the 3rd round, I really huge expect guys to maybe make the roster and hope for a couple gems somewhere along the way.

Re: Rocky trade is a possibility
I agree with the "don't trade just to get picks". It would be nice, but really, most of the players we are talking about can start for us or play a significant role. Maybe they only have one year left us, but so what? One less need to fill this year.
Other than Campbell, draft picks for players only makes sense if its a steal by us. Something tells me, in this particular draft, no one is overpaying for average NFL starter which, except for AH, is what we are offering. Trust me, I am all about throwing lots of darts at the board but not by gutting the roster of reliable starters. If Rocky, Laron, Moss and Carlos are all gone next year with no compensation, so be it. If there is even a season in 2011, it is likely that: 1) We will have at least 6 picks in the draft; and 2) There will be a better class of UFA's out there.

Re: Rocky trade is a possibility
Nobody is worth hardly anything this year. With the exception of Marshall there were really no trades that involved the player's actual worth.. well, McNabb might fit into that mold as well. I don't think we get higher than a 6th or 7th for Rocky.

Re: Rocky trade is a possibility
What's just as bad, next year should have a glut of UFA's if CBA stuff doesn't radically alter it, so trade values will be seriously low again. Strange days in the NFL.

Generally speaking, yes Landry can tackle. However he did launch himself one particular game and that got played over and over and over, thus your perception that ALL HE DOES is launch himself. Kind of like the time he got run over 2 years ago by Brandon Jacobs. It was ONE play but everybody plays it over and over and over until suddenly it becomes a fact that everybody runs over Landry. Landry is not going to get run over. And he will be a better tackler this year for this reason. We had HORRIBLE coaches the last 2 years. We now have BETTER coaches this year. There will be a big difference in not only Landry's performance but others as well. Either that, or they won't start, or they won't make the team. I think you will be surprised during preseason with the difference once we see them play. |

Re: Rocky trade is a possibility
I think Landry can do VERY well back at SS, or even at LB if needed after his bulk is complete.
FS is not his position due to his coverage inefficiencies, but he could be a real gamechanger playing closer to the LOS. As long as he keeps his attitude in check, which I believe Shanny will do...he'll be fine for us. I'd throw last year away for many of our players. It was tough to stay motivated in such a broken system and situation.
