Re: NFL.com's Redskins Season Preview
I'm going with 11-5 as long as the offense continues to progress and it starts out like it did against New England and does not revert back to its old ways. The Defense is going to hold up its end of the bargain. The absolute worst that this team can do is 9-7, and they really have to screw up against lesser opponents to do that.

Yes he'll likely be more durable than Kendall was going to be. He'll hold his own, and be a solid contributor. But I don't agree that Dockery represents a boost in overall talent/skill or that he is going to be some sort of key to a more dynamic offense. |

Re: NFL.com's Redskins Season Preview
Dockery is easily the better blocker especially when it comes to the running game. In the physical NFC East what would you prefer at guard, someone who is 285 or someone who is 325, and 7 years younger to boot?
He really didn't bomb out in Buffalo as much as they finally wised up and realized that ridiculous contract they gave him wasn't worth it. |

Re: NFL.com's Redskins Season Preview
The 'experts' (including JLC who pegged us as a 6 win team each of the past 3 seasons) are just regurgitating the same mantra 'QB and receiver questions, big money for Haynesworth so now he's not going to play hard' you can read from any 5th grader who is a fan.
I'll be surprised if we're not a 10 win team this year. While I don't think Campbell will be a top 10 QB, he will arrive in the 10-15 discussion this year. I've seen enough from Kelly/Thomas/Mitchell/Davis to believe that viable weapons won't be a problem this season for the offense. Injuries in the backfield and on the interior of the OL could derail our playoff chances however. Defensively, I expect us to take a couple steps back in overall ranking but improve in sacks, takeaways and PPG allowed. In the division I'd place us second give or take a game with Philly. NYG will be strong as usual and I think Dallas just isn't as good as the media wants them to be. It will between us and the Eagles for the wild card from our division.

Re: NFL.com's Redskins Season Preview
I don't know where all the love comes from for all the other teams in our division.
The Eagles lost a VERY good defensive coordinator in Jimmy Johnson. RIP Jimmy. They lost Dawkins to the.............Broncos? LOL! And their signal caller on D is out for the year. That spells S-U-C-K! Giants - They have Eli Manning at quarterback. He sucks! I don't know his exact record without Plax, but I do know that it SUCKS! Cowboys - LOL the Cowboys! Remember when James Thrash burned Terrence Newman for a TD? His first one in years! How about Clinton Portis running over Zach Thomas? Or Moss.......................burning the secondary again and again and again. There is a reason why this team doesn't win play off games. I mean, they do stupid crap. Like with releasing their number one reciever and then trade two First round picks for another number one reciever. Or keeping Roy Williams on the team for so long just because he made the probowl every year. Or throwing to one guy over and over and over again hoping he's going to finally catch a pass.............................and then blame the officials when he doesn't. Or handpicking Baltimore to close out your stadium only to see them kick your asses! There is no reason why we can't compete with that crap. Heck, there is no reason why we can't win this division. Especially with a middle bye and a eaaaaaaaasy schedule!

Re: NFL.com's Redskins Season Preview
I guess I should have pointed out the positives from the skins side first :
Our D should be a hell of a defense. Only concern is if someone get injured in the secondary I dont feel Barnes, Tryon are very good. I like the way the O-Line has played thus far in pass protection. looks better than last year. Campbell looked good against NE last week. I am not bashing our boys. I am just tired of all the people here saying "the media hates us...blah blah blah" its really old. The media doesn't hate anyone in the NFL. There may be some bias, but really if we win games then we will be in the talk of playoff calibur teams. We aren't that team. I laugh at the comment we went to the playoffs twice in four years, actually twice in 5 years counting last year. But I refer to when Danny bought the team and went crazy with the off season superbowl victories, which have gotten us 2 playoffs in 10-11 years. Every year everyone here wants to say that the Cowboys, Eagles, and Giants are overrated. Well, all they have done is win the superbowl, and go to the NFC championship year after year. I can't stand the ass wipes either, but its just delusional not to admit that we are not on the level of those teams. Yes, we may have beaten the Eagles twice and the cowboys once, but the Eagles made the NFC championship game last year. You wouldn't trade those two victories for an appearance in the NFC championship?? Foolish if you say no. the Cowboys may struggle a bit, but they have a good Oline, two very good RB's, probowl QB and TE and they are committed to running the ball with Barber this year. I think with the exit of TO they are going to be better than last year. because I try and be realistic on here people think I am bashing my boys, when I am not. I would love to go 12-4, 13-3, even 10-6 consistantly so I could talk some smack about us. |
