At least 2 different head coaches have deemed Jason Campbell a worthy NFL starter (not to mention the numerous analysts who think he's legit). Chris Simms was a starter for a few games, couldn't hack it, got benched, then cut, then signed to be a 3rd stringer. But sure, let's trade JC for him straight up.

Re: 2009 Season
On perhaps a more practical note, Everette Brown declared & he really sounds like a good guy, maybe a safer pick than the usual 1st round DE. I think some have said he's more suited to be a 3-4 OLB though.

Re: 2009 Season
well hears my thoughts the draft is a gamble always is and to try to solve our problems with the draft is probably not the best way to do it. i keep hearing about how great 2008's draft was well the only starter from that draft was horton. sure our 3 2nd rounders might pan out but they really haven't done anything yet. but i like those picks because we can develope them, which i believe is what the draft is for. in 2 or 3 years if they havent become starters get rid of them. same thing with this year draft guys for the furture not the now. develope them and see if they can become great players to take over for our aging vets. heres where FA comes in get guys who are proven and can hold down the postion until the rookies can take over. so in FA this year go after hayneworth, gross, even birk, maybe even canty. the thing that kills the skins ever season is they dont know how to build a foundation. you start with the lines. look at all the teams in the playoffs now they all have great lines. NY, PHI, CAR, TEN, SD all of them have great lines.

Re: 2009 Season
You know I had forgotten who Chris Simms was? Then I remembered, that guy. No way! You'd trade Campbell for him? Put the base pipe down and pick up a white chip.
Campbell deserves another year. Strait-up. He waited his turn, did everything that was asked of him, and has gotten better. If he gets better this year then we'll have a good shot. If he doesn't, then oh well. Well not have blown a lot of money on him and unlike previous years played a guy through to see where he could take us. I've never been a big JC fan but he's paid his dues . . . . for now. |
