Re: Tony Romo

As long as Romo keeps the 13 year playoff winless streak alive, he can take whoever the wants to the movies.

Sure many big name players have thier "charities" or "foundations" that are named after them, but they do get something back in the huge tax break they get.

But to hear about players that do little things like this is just plain refreshing to see. No matter what uniform they wear. Romo is the same guy that stopped on a busy Dallas highway and changed a flat tire for an elderly couple that was stranded. He also just made a spur-of-the-moment cameo appearance at a Dallas High School Football teams pep-rally (he also took his good friend Will Smith with him).

Lots of players do these things, and I am with the majority when I say that we need to hear more about the good things that happen (like this) and not the bad things (like Pacman Jones or Larry Johnson).

I am a 25 year retired veteran and was asked to speak at a local school here to the students on Veterans Day, and that is just the message I brought to them. That for every bad thing they hear on the evening news about Iraq and Afghanistan, there are 100 good things that are military men and women are doing that you don't hear about.

Would I have started this thread on a rival board? Probably not, but giving D'BOYZ his due, these things are good to hear none-the-less.
While I generally agree the points regarding the media. Who would have thought the media would present, and paint untruthful pictures of news and events.
However, regarding the Romo post.
While mowing the grass, I sometimes step in the odd pile of dogshit in my yard. I view this as a misstep on my part, and hope it will wear off during the remainder of the mowing event. I DO NOT however, walk back to that pile and step in it again........

Ricky Williams should not be compared to Pac at all. Ricky made bad personal choices which hurt him (some might say his team mates too) but he did not do things to harm others.

AND Ricky was "passed sentence on" by the league and banished to the CFL, etc. He paid his dues, and is naturally back in Miami doing a good job!

Re: Tony Romo

Taking the entire day off to watch a movie explains a lot about this guy's work ethic and why he's homeless...

The more you think about it is Romo caused the guy to skip a days work and was a bad infulence on a person who has little to nothing.

Re: Tony Romo

Romo is a little too smug to be doing deeds of this nature. I don't buy it for a second!

Yea he had that smug look on his face when that elderly couple drove off after fixing their flat. Why the smug look? Only he knew that he did not tighten up the lug nuts. He also had a smug look while Doc sat beside him at the movies. Why the smug look? He knew the guy was missing a days work and would be starving for the rest of the night while he kicked back in his five million dollar home.
