Re: Redskins sign Novak
I'm perusing for the full quote, but while doing so, found Gramatica's response:
TRICK OR TREAT? Fox NFL analyst John Madden has taken quite a few shots at the Bucs in recent weeks. He has criticized LG Randall McDaniel's skills and stamina, FB Mike Alstott's blocking ability and even PK Martin Gramatica's uniform. Madden said in jest that Gramatica's helmet makes him look like he's wearing a Halloween costume. Surprisingly, Gramatica agreed. "I look at the way I look with that helmet on and I make fun of myself,'' Gramatica said. "What [Madden] said doesn't bother me. He's just doing his job.'' Gramatica even sent Madden an autographed mini-helmet.

Re: Redskins sign Novak
On the Gramatica note, one of the funniest things I've ever seen in football was when Bill Gramatica blew his knee out while celebrating a field goal in 2001. He was jumping around like a complete spazz and ripped up his knee... the football gods do have a sense of humor!

Re: Redskins sign Novak
Yeah it might as well have been an extra point, it's not like it was a 50 yarder at the gun to win it.

Re: Redskins sign Novak
If he misses a non-crucial one, people will be fine.
If he misses a game-winning kick, God help him.
