Have you ever seen the guy play in person? He's a joke, Miami won games on the back of Ricky Williams period. He's so good they bought in AJ Feeley, Feeley had the best win loss record of them all, talk about a horrible QB, stats are many times meaningless in determaining a players ability, circumstances often dictate a players success's and failures. Trent Dilfer anyone? I will say though that in his prime Cecil "Fielder" was probably a better QB than Jay "Fiedler" lol |

In 2001, they had the 24th (out of 31) best offense and the 5th best defense Fiedler really carried that team... I'm not even trying to say the Ramsey is good...im saying Fiedler isn't

I can't believe we're all arguing over two QBs who don't even play for us. All I was trying to say when I mentioned Fiedler was that I'd rather have him as a 3rd string, never going to play QB than Todd Collins. Who would have thought it would cause all this?

That said, I feel much better with Campbell as a NFL QB than the person that went one spot ahead of him, Aaron Rodgers. |

2 seasons under SS, then 2 seasons with Gibbs coming out of retirement trying to relive his offensive past while treating Ramsey like he was a red headed step child is not a fair opportunity for Ramsey. Funny, Ramsey was the apple of most of these guy's eye's at the end of the 2004 season who are now bashing him, so in 1 quarter of the first game of the year against the best defense in the league Ramsey is no longer any good? He threw for more yards in 1 quarter than Brunell did the rest of the game, Gibbs was looking for any excuse whatsoever to yank the kid and keep his promise to Brunell, Gibbs was more anctious to make that change than Richard Steal was to stop the Meldrick Taylor, Julio ceasar chavez fight years back [for all you fight fans out there]. Gibbs himself has admitted he was unable to adjust his offense to the modern defenses that's why Saunders is here, but for the last 2 seasons it's been Gibbs inability to outsmart the defenses. I have stated all along that although I believe Ramsey was the man for the job because he outplayed Brunell under the same or worse conditions, that I never believed that Brunell was as bad as he was made to look in 2004, as well as in many games last season, it was more to do with Gibbs simplistic offensive approach. Let's face it it was Gibbs who named Ramsey the starter after the 2004 season, and Ramsey earned it. To bad Gibbs didn't stick with Ramsey like he did Brunell the previous season when Brunell played about as bad as A QB can play, whether or not Ramsey could lead us to the big one will probably never be known, but this much is, Gibbs was never in his corner and he never treated him with the same fairness, and opportunity that he bestowed on his beloved Brunell! Who knows what Ramsey will do with the Jets there situation is so uncertain with a first time head coach, along with the toe, and who knows who else to throw to, who knows how things will pan out for him, but I do know this Moss is a Skin because Pennington couldn't reach him with that rag arm of his. Anyone who thinks this guy Collins is a better fit at backup than Ramsey is crazy, we all know Brunell was starting this year but if he gets hurt Ramsey I believe would still have been our best option for this season, I don't like the trade. Funny thing about the Fiedler, Ramsey comparison, Miami offered a #2 pick for Ramsey to replace Fiedler as thier QB, obviously Miami thought Ramsey was better, unfortuntly Gibbs kept this apparent loser so he could trade him for a 6th round pick later on, what a deal. Seems to me according to all these Ramsey bashers that we could have replaced him with just about anyone, I am surprised Gibbs didn't pick up on that, We could have used that #2 to get Campbell and saved a #1. |

Re: Jason Campbell Mistake?
It must be football season if we've got a six page thread arguing about Patrick "I Play for the Jets guys" Ramsey over Jay "Um am I still in the league" Fiedler. I'll take neither, please and thank you, and while I'm at it can I pay anyone to take Todd Collins? Wait, Todd Collins? The Todd Collins who was lofting those tds to Desmond Howard? We've completed the circle!
Sorry, I was hanging out with Ricky. Can't wait to see what Campbell does in the game Sunday. |

Re: Jason Campbell Mistake?
This thread is seriously mind boggling. One year removed and Ramsey is still the answer. Completely mind boggling.

Re: Jason Campbell Mistake?
I remember one game Heath Shuler played well in. We should bring him back...
