Re: The Spitting Ejection
Cry me a river...Isn't Pittman the guy who beat the hell out of his wife?
Taylor shouldn't have spit on him, he should of taken a big dump and thrown it in his face. HAIL TO THE REDSKINS! LOSERS STAY HOME, WE'RE OFF TO SEATTLE! |

Re: The Spitting Ejection
Right... I guess one of the best refs in the game just had a c-note on the game and was trying to swing the momentum by handing out a phantom penalty and ejection on a boy scout of a guy in Sean Taylor.
Some of you guys are hilarious. |

Re: The Spitting Ejection
Couple points:
We still do not know 100 percent what happened and if he really did spit, best bet is to ask Pittman. If Sean Taylor did NOT spit then why was he NOT angry when he left the stadium and after the call. If I truly did not spit on someone and was being kicked out for it, then I would get mad and tell my coachs and be upset, ST seemed niether. If ST did actually spit, then he made a huge mistake by telling GW he did not. That is an almost Marcus Vick like "fake apology"(publicly lying). I personally think he did not, but I guess thats my opinion as a Skins fan.

"There was a lot of trash-talking the whole time," Pittman said. "He spit in my face, no man is going to spit in my face. I have a lot of respect for Sean Taylor, but no respect no more. My initial reaction was, just hit him in the face. He'd be a lot worse if it was on the street." |

Re: The Spitting Ejection
i'll tell you this: i've given taylor the benefit of the doubt so far... if it is proven that he did indeed spit on pittman, i not only lose respect for his actions, but his word as well.

Re: The Spitting Ejection
There's no way Taylor is getting suspended. That would be foolish. Besides, I'm not convinced it even happened. There should have been a flag thrown on the Bucs' player as well.

Re: The Spitting Ejection
Goddamn guys... none of us were there, and he's on my team. I didnt see shit and I was looking for it. I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt until I see otherwise. I agree that spitting in the face of a guy is a shitty thing to do, and you should get punished for it.... but if he was just mouthing off and a little spit particle flew from his mouth as he spoke... and he got punched.... and ejected..... and tampa got 15 yards.... and a first down...... thats a little much.
And what about the ref that ejected smith the other week. Smith meant him no more harm than Washington did when he slapped him on the ass... he just wanted to talk to him. These ref's should be full time and paid to referee full time. |

I agree, didn't Taylor spit in TO's face last year? The one thing I disagreed with there is Pittman didn't get a penalty to offset the personel foul by Taylor, Taking a swing and connecting to a player's head I thought was an automatic ejection as well? Retaliating regardless of what happen's to you is a penalty as well, it should have been called. But regardless it was an absoltue idiotic move on Taylors part, as if this guy doesn't have enough going on trying to clean up his image before his trial he pulls something like this and reinforces his stupidity and total disregard for authority, I am sure his defense team was really amused by his actions today! And for anyone who believes he didn't spit, he sure reacted funny for a player who was just ejected for an opposing player punching him in the head, I think he took it awfully well. |
