Snyder is certainly taking advantage of his cashflow superiority in one of the few areas where that advantage can still be wielded. Good for him. Good for 'Skins fans. Not so good for the rest of league.

Re: Williams will stay....yyeeeeeaaaaaahhhh!
Anyone catch Bugel on NBC4 news last night. He said, and I quote, "in 28 years of coaching, this is the most closely knit team he has ever been around. Everybody likes and respects everybody else. They have a great attitude. At this point of the season, its not about football X's and O's anymore, its about attitude."
I hope the line of scrimmage explodes on the first play (no matter whether we're offense or defense) and we knock some bodies around. |

We all knew he was staying and he knew he was staying he just had to get a fatter check to add to it. Lets hope he learns more of the Gibbs Way before he takes over. And when he does we know that we will get the best coaches that money can buy.

This is great because if we have GW and Gibbs for a while we could be a superbowl caliber team for several years, I literally jumping with joy haha.

Say what you want about Dan Snyder, this is the kind of move he is known for. Granted, in the past he may have made some mistakes, I honestly beleive they were mistakes aiming to make the team better despite the fact some of them didn't work out. This is just the beginning of establishing something around here that's been missing for a long time. Thank you GW, I'm elated at your decision to remain with the team, and Mr. Snyder for recognizing it's importance. IM HAPPY!!!!!!

Re: Williams will stay....yyeeeeeaaaaaahhhh!
What a great way to start the New Year!!!!!!!! No distractions for Gibbs, GW or the team as we prepare to whip the Bucs! Say what you will about Snyder (and I'm no big fan of his), he does have deep, deep pockets. I knew he would come up with the dough (and more) to keep GW here.
Got to also believe there's a behind-the-scenes agreement that he takes over in another season or two. If true, he'd be a fool to consider anything else. |

Re: Williams will stay....yyeeeeeaaaaaahhhh!
Weren’t Gregg Williams and Jeff Fischer disciples of Buddy Ryan in Houston? I thought I read somewhere that Williams’ defense is basically Ryan’s “46 Defense.”
Can anyone confirm this? |

Re: Williams will stay....yyeeeeeaaaaaahhhh!
This is truly awesome news.
Gibb's contract will expire at the same time that William's now-current one does, so he has definitely been promised the head coaching job. He gets to learn at Gibbs' and Bugel's feet and become a more well-rounded coach. He will definitely be more intense as the head coach some day than good 'ol Ritchie Pettitbone was. Now I feel better about the teams future. Thanks Dan Snyder! |
