Re: Redskins Offseason Thread
Cooley's film breakdown of our 3rd round pick OT Geron Christian
He likes him a lot, loves the pick, excited about it, says he's not as raw as people say, sees him 100% as a starter in this league: + can play both LT and RT (in fact his college team made their tackles switch side several times during games), exceptional footwork, good pass protecter, nasty guy in the run game, super long arms, really good at re-establishing him self and moving his feet, hard to get around in the pass game, fluid, good balance - could be more immediately impactful with his first hit, never wins with his first punch, lets guys get too close to him because he's a bit late with his hands, panics a little bit sometimes against speed Cooley finished his breakdown saying he's talented enough to be a week 1 starter! (This is not what we drafted him for, but this could be turn out to be a great pick).

Re: Redskins Offseason Thread
I really can't understand why Vegas gives us such a shitty chance. I can't argue that we should be viewed as a definite top 6 in the NFC (playoff team) but to be so low just doesn't make sense.
I feel like Vegas isn't appropriately recognizing the impact of the injuries on our team last year. Either that or they don't like Alex Smith. I just can't make sense of it. I don't see how we're not at least 8-8 this year.

Re: Redskins Offseason Thread
They might ranked us too low, but to be honest, I don't blame them.. The last time we had a winning record is back in 2012 with 10-6. Yes we went 9-7 in 2015 but we were one loss away from .500 that season. Until we can show everyone that we can win consistently, they all always are going to rank Redskins low.

Re: Redskins Offseason Thread
#12 is the main reason for this, but I agree they are always hyped way too high.

Re: Redskins Offseason Thread
The only way I can think to reconcile it...
They may think there's a high chance we'll be mediocre, but a low chance that we'll be shitty and a low chance that we'll be good. So when they make odds of us making the NFC championship they think our chance is bad, but it doesn't necessarily mean they think we'll be the 4th worst in the conference. They might just think they have a really good idea of what we are - a seven-to-nine win team.

Re: Redskins Offseason Thread
Next time we finish 8-8 I’m counting that as a winning record since it’s only 1 win away

Re: Redskins Offseason Thread
You are right about true definition of winning records if we want to get technically with definition. I just don't see it that way. 9-7 means nothing if we don't go deep into playoffs. We can go 9-7 in a row for few years without playoff wins, would we be content with that? I highly doubt that.
Granted, we are talking about winning record specifically so I suppose you guys are right about this. |
